#NFLBuffs: Falcons Rookie Oliver Shows Promise In Win Over Redskins

Isaiah Oliver – CB #20 Atlanta FalconsFalcons' rookie Isaiah Oliver started at cornerback for the first time in his NFL career in Week 9, as Atlanta defeated the Redskins 38-14. Oliver played all 69 defensive snaps for the Falcons, recording four tackles and two pass breakups. His first pass breakup of the day came on a third-and-15, putting an end to the Redskins' second drive. Oliver also matched up against Redskins' receiver and fellow Buff, Paul Richardson, at several points in the game, breaking up a pass intended for Richardson in the fourth quarter.
Other Notable Performances
Undrafted rookie Phillip Lindsay started at running back for the Broncos for the second straight week. He rushed for 60 yards on 17 carries, while adding two receptions for 24 yards.Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie recorded seven tackles in the Cowboys' Week 9 loss to Tennessee.
Cornerback Jimmy Smith recorded five tackles including one for a loss and two pass deflections in the Ravens' Week 9 loss to the Steelers.
Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon recorded one tackle in the 49ers' 34-3 win over Oakland on Thursday, helping limit the Raiders to just 140 yards passing and 242 yards of total offense.
Now the full time starter in Seattle, free safety Tedric Thompson recorded five tackles and a pass breakup in the Seahawks' loss to the Chargers.
Packers' left tackle David Bakhtiari played all 74 offensive snaps against New England on Sunday night. On the year, Bakhtiari has played all 560 offensive snaps for Green Bay, routinely grading out among the best offensive linemen in the league. Kicker Mason Crosby also made his only field goal try in the game, a 29-yarder, and went 2-of-2 on PATs.
Redskins' wide receiver Paul Richardson recorded two receptions for 16 yards in a loss to Atlanta. Following the game, the Redskins announced that Richardson will have shoulder surgery and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2018 season.
