December 05, 2018 | Football

Nine former University of Colorado football players took the field for NFL teams in Week 13, with Phillip Lindsay again headlining this week's performances. You can vote for him and the six other NFL Buffs on the Pro Bowl ballot here.

Weekly Spotlight

Broncos' running back Phillip Lindsay continues to elevate his game, recording a career-high in rushing for the second consecutive week and taking home AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors as he helped the Broncos to a 24-10 win over Cincinnati. On the day, Lindsay rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries, including a new career-long 65-yard touchdown run that put the game out of reach. In addition to being named AFC Offensive Player of the Week, Lindsay is up for FedEx Ground Player of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Week, as well as being selected to the Pro Football Focus Team of the Week.

Through 12 games, Lindsay ranks fourth in the NFL in rushing yards with 937, while his eight rushing touchdowns are tied for the fifth-most in the league.  He also owns the NFL's best yards per carry average (6.1) among qualified rushers (min. 6.25 attempts per game). With 189 receiving yards on the year, Lindsay surpassed 1,000 yards from scrimmage on Sunday, becoming just the fourth undrafted rookie in NFL history to do so.

Other Notable Performances

Cowboys' cornerback Chidobe Awuzie recorded four tackles and a pass deflection on Thursday night, helping Dallas snap the Saints' 10-game winning streak. Awuzie was on the field for all 52 defensive snaps as the Cowboys held the Saints offense to just 10 points and 176 yards of total offense. He spent significant time matched up on Saints' star Michael Thomas, helping contain the Pro Bowler to just five receptions for 40 yards.

Ravens' cornerback Jimmy Smith recorded six tackles in a 26-16 win over Atlanta. Similar to Awuzie, Smith covered Falcons' All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones for much of the game, helping the Ravens limit him to a season-low two receptions for 18 yards. Falcons' cornerback Isaiah Oliver saw action on special teams in the game.

Seahawks' safety Tedric Thompson recorded four tackles in a 43-16 win over San Francisco. 49ers' cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon also recorded four tackles in the game.

Packers' left tackle David Bakhtiari started and played all 76 offensive snaps in a 20-17 loss to Arizona. Green Bay kicker Mason made 1-of-2 field goal tries and both of his PATs in the game.

Giants' left tackle Nate Solder started and played all 72 offensive snaps in a 30-27 win over Chicago.
