February 26, 2018 | Lacrosse

BOULDER — For the second time in three weeks, the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week is a Buffalo as senior Darby Kiernan was selected this week after a strong performance in Colorado's game against San Diego State on Sunday, February 25.

Kiernan recorded a season-high five goals in the 17-12 victory over the Aztecs, which included one free-position goal and two unassisted goals. The senior attacker from Ridgewood, N.J. put seven of her eight shots on goal and recorded half of CU's 20 draw controls. Her 10 draw control performance marked the third time in four games this season she has recorded at least 10 draw controls.

Kiernan joins junior Miranda Stinson as the only other Buff to earn a Pac-12 Player of the Week honor as this is the inaugural season of Pac-12 Women's Lacrosse.

The No. 22 Colorado Buffaloes (2-2) are in the midst of a four-game home stand and will host No. 19 Virginia Tech on Sunday, March 4, at 12 p.m. at Kittredge Field. CU has won its last 12 straight games at home, which dates back to the 2016 season, and is 25-5 at Kittredge Field (27-5 overall in Boulder).
