Buffs Move Up National Rankings

BOULDER — The Colorado women's lacrosse team moved up in all three polls this week after earning a pair of Pac-12 wins last week. The Buffs, who are now 11-4 overall and 8-1 in Pac-12 play, are ranked 11th in the NIKE/US Lacrosse Magazine poll, 13th in the Cascade/Inside Lacrosse media poll and is 15th in the IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll.
The Buffs moved to the top of the Pac-12 standings with their 11-10 overtime thriller against Stanford on April 13. CU led the entire game, but with just over a minute remaining, the Cardinal tied the game up at 10-10. In overtime, both teams has changes, but CU's Samantha Nemirov ended the game 2:49 into the frame after she found the back of the net. CU also had a decisive 18-11 victory over California on April 15.
Colorado leads the Pac-12 in two of the three polls. Stanford (12-4, 7-2 Pac-12) sits ahead of the Buffs in the coaches poll (13th) and is 14th in the media and USL polls. Southern California (8-7, 5-4 Pac-12) is ranked 21st in the coaches poll and is receiving votes in the other two polls.
The Buffs will play their final regular season game on Friday, April 20, at Kittredge Field against Oregon at 3 p.m. A ceremony honoring the 2018 senior class will follow the game.
