CU’s Brown, Reistad Named Pac-12 Tom Hansen Conference Medal Winners

Honor recognized each Pac-12 institution's outstanding senior male and female student-athlete
SAN FRANCISCO – The 2017-18 Pac-12 Tom Hansen Conference Medal recipients were announced Tuesday and Colorado's Petter Reistad and Sarah Brown were CU's honorees.
A Conference Medal is awarded annually to each member institution's outstanding senior male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.
Conference medal winners have been named every year since the 1960-61 academic year. In 2009, the Pac-12 renamed the award the Tom Hansen Conference Medal in honor of Hansen, who retired at the end of June 2009 after serving for 26 years as Commissioner of the Pac-10.
Petter Reistad, Skiing (Baerum, Norway) – Three-time USCSCA national Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team selection… 2018 winner of the Morgan Family Buff Club Scholar-Athlete Award for having the highest GPA in his class… Posted a 3.961 cumulative GPA as a finance major. Completed an internship as a rick analyst with Norwegian bank DMB, the largest bank in the country, in the summer of 2017… Six-time All-American… 2018 NCAA national runner-up in the 10K classic race … Team Captain… 2017 CU Ceal Barry Leadership Award winner.
Sarah Brown, Lacrosse (Boulder, Colo.) – 2018 All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in the Pac-12's inaugural lacrosse season… Earned B.S. in Strategic Communications and minor in Environmental Design... Eight-Time AD's Honor Roll. Dean's List Fall 2014… Theta KAT Walk fundraiser which helps support the local Boulder Casa (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children), the helps kids/teenagers in the foster care system… Drafted by the NY Flight Women's Professional Lacrosse League.
