Senior Haley Nist Wins 2018 Idaho Women’s State Amateur

BOISE, Idaho — Haley Nist, a senior transfer from Oregon State, won the 2018 Idaho Women's State Amateur on Saturday, July 21, at Shadow Valley Golf Club. This is the second time she has won the event as she also took home the trophy in 2014.
Nist shot 8-over (224) during the 54-hole tournament to defeat the runner-up, Kelli Ann Stand, who shot 12-over (228).
"It's always nice to get a win in your hometown," Nist said. "I had not played a lot of golf recently, but this win should be a good start for me heading into the fall college season."
The Meridian, Idaho native, shot a 75 in the first round and was tied for second with Kristien Fenwick. Nist moved into the lead after the second round, this time recording a 74, just 2-over. She hung on for the win after securing another 75 in the final round.
