Barton Named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week

August 28, 2018 | Soccer

SAN FRANCISCO – Colorado soccer player Tatum Barton was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. Barton is the first CU conference player of the week in this season's second week of action.

Last season, Jalen Tompkins was the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week three times and Joss Orejel won the defensive award once.

A junior from Littleton, Colo., Barton recorded the sixth hat trick in CU history on Saturday in a 6-0 win over Missouri. She scored two goals in the first five minutes, the second-earliest a player has scored two goals in school history. She added her third goal in the 57th minute to complete the standout performance. In addition to scoring the second-fastest two goals, those first two goals were scored 2:33 apart, the second-fastest consecutive goals scored by the same player in CU history.

The Buffs are at home this weekend, hosting UTSA at 4 p.m. on Friday, and Iowa State at noon on Sunday.
