Weather: 

  • It's a pristine, warm day in Boulder for the Buffaloes' home opener today. Temperatures reaching 90 degrees this afternoon with a 3 mph breeze from the east. 

Pregame 
  • After defeating Colorado State and Nebraska to start the season. Colorado (2-0) look to build off their momentum against the New Hampshire Wildcats (0-2) in CU's home opener. 
  • This will be the eighth FCS program the Buffs have played since 2006. New Hampshire have been one of the more successful programs in the division, making the FCS playoffs for the last 14 seasons. 
  • Nate Landman, Laviska Shenault Jr., and Steven Montez look to continue their terrific play after each claiming national awards for their respective performances against Nebraska last week. 
First Quarter
  • Colorado wins the toss and elects to defer to the second half. New Hampshire to receive. Colorado to defend the south end zone. 
  • Davis Price kicks it into the end zone for a touchback, UNH starts at the 25.
  • 3rd and 5, Lupoli scrambles up the middle for a gain on 10 to the UNH 40. 1st down. 
  • Mustafa Johnson gets his first sack of the game, brings up 2nd and 17.
  • Lupoli's throws is intercepted by Rick Gamboa on 3rd and 15. Returns it to the UNH 28 where Colorado will take over. 
  • TOUCHDOWN Colorado. On 3rd and 10, Montez rifles it into the hands of Shenault and the sophomore from Desoto, Tex., strolls in for the score. Caps off a three play, 28 yard drive. 10:06 left.
  • Touchback, UNH starts once again at its 25. 
  • Landman with a jarring hit on Washington, went right through the gap and wrapped him up, brings up 3rd and 6.
  • Colorado forces UNH to go three-and-out for the first time this afternoon. CU start their next drive at their own 19. 
  • Montez' throw is intercepted on 3rd and 9, but UNH jumped offsides prior to the snap. Brings up 3rd and 4. 
  • False start brings up 3rd and 9. Montez throws a nice ball to Shenault on an out route. 1st down.
  • Facemask call on Jake Moretti brings up 2nd and 17 at the CU 36.
  • On 3rd and 10, Montez tries to go deep for K.D. Nixon down the left side but is broken up well by Smith. Brings up 4th down. 4:13 left.
  • UNH starts on its 20. 
  • Lupoli tries to find his receiver on the left side but Delrick Abrams Jr. defends it nicely. 3rd and 9. 
  • Lupoli attempts to scramble his way up the middle but is stopped short by Gamboa. UNH forced to punt. CU starts its next drive at its 45.
  • Montez is brought down in the backfield by Carter for a loss of nine. Buffs go three-and-out for the first time today. UNH starts at its 33. 
  • END OF FIRST QUARTER. UNH on the verge of entering Colorado territory to start the next quarter. Montez is 9-10 for 74 passing yards. 
Second Quarter
  • Jacob Callier comes up with big sack for a loss of 9 on 3rd down. UNH punt to Ronnie Blackmon who returns it for 20 yards to the CU 45. 
  • Travon McMillian rushes for a gain of 20 to the UNH 35. CU in Wildcat territory for the second time today. 
  • McMillian fights his way up the left side for a gain of seven on 3rd and 5. 1st down CU into the red zone.
  • Kyle Evans gets back-to back rushes for a gain of six and seven respectively. CU marching in the red zone. 
  • TOUCHDOWN Colorado. McMillian in the wildcat formation sneaks it in from a yard out to double CU's lead. Caps off a ground-dominated eight play, 55 yard drive. 10:45 left.
  • Coyne rushes for 10 yards on 1st down to move the chains. UNH at its 35. 
  • Washington rushes for 8 yards to the UNH 43. 15-yard late hit penalty on Abrams puts the Wildcats at the CU 42. 
  • Washington gets an 11 yard gain on the ground but loses the football and is recovered by Gamboa. Play under further review. 
  • Call is overturned, UNH will retain possession at the CU 28. 
  • Lupoli's pass on 3rd and 6 is incomplete. Will go for it on 4th and 6.
  • Lupoli scrambles for a gain of 10 up the middle, provides a fresh set of downs. UNH into the red zone. 7:24 left. 
  • Landman comes up with his first sack of the day. Brings up 3rd and 17 at the CU 25.
  • Lupoli goes deep into the end zone on 3rd down, falls incomplete. UNH to attempt 42-yard field goal.
  • Kick is no good. Ball kicked with a low trajectory and it hits off the right upright. 5:56 left. CU take over at its 25. 
  • McMillian once again getting a nice workload to start this drive. 3 straight carries for 12 yards. 
  • Montez finds Tony Brown deep up the middle for a big gain of 53 yards. Ball at the UNH 10.
  • TOUCHDOWN Colorado. Evans rushes it in from six yards out from the right side, both Evans and McMillian both have a touchdown on the ground this afternoon. Concludes a six play, 75 yard drive. 3:57 left.
  • UNH begins its next drive at the 10. O'Connor initially ran for 16 yards on 1st down from a dropped lateral, but the call was then reversed to become an incomplete pass. 2nd and 10. 
  • TOUCHDOWN Colorado. Lupoli on 1st and 10 from the 24 fumbles the ball and is recovered by Davion Taylor who returns it back to the end zone. CU's second forced turnover of the game. 2:36 left.
  • Israel Antwine's sack on 3rd and long is wiped out by a 15-yard facemask penalty by Terrance Lang. 1st down UNH at the CU 48.
  • UNH attempt to go for it on 4th down and Lupoli's pass is incomplete, CU take over at the UNH 42. 
  • CU driving into UNH territory in the waning seconds of the first half. Montez finds Tony Brown for a gain of 10 to get into Wildcat territory followed by a 16 yard connection with Shenault to get to the 23. 
  • Montez's throw into the left corner of the end zone is intercepted. UNH starts at the 25 on a touchback. UNH kneel to go into the half.
  • END OF HALF
Third Quarter
  • Second half is underway as UNH kicks it into the end zone for a touchback.
  • TOUCHDOWN Colorado. McMillian turns on the jets as he rushes up the left side for the score from 75 yards out on the first play of the half. CU up 35-0. 14:48 left. Price kicks into the end zone for a touchback. 
  • Lupoli sacked by Javier Edwards on 1st down for a loss of six . Brings up 2nd and 16. Edwards brings down Gray for no gain. Lupoli on 3rd and 16 finds Gray for a gain of 12. Buffs force a three-and-out to start the half defensively. UNH punt to Donovan Lee who returns it to the CU 5. 13:08 left.
  • After a nice defensive possession, Sam Noyer took over Montez at quarterback, yet they weren't able to get into UNH terrritory. McMillian had a nice gain of 23 yards on the first play of the drive and Evans also got some touches to his name. 10:33 left. Price punts to the UNH 32.
  • CU prevents the Wildcats from entering Colorado territory. The defensive line came up with some good stops on the ground game, including tackles for losses by Johnson and Jase Franke. It's Johnson's second tackle for a loss this afternoon. UNH punts it to Blackmon who's brought down at the CU 1. 8:03 left.
  • TOUCHDOWN New Hampshire. Noyer's second drive of the game results in a pick-six on third down. Lacey for New Hampshire takes it back to the house for the score. 35-7 CU. 6:56 left. UNH kicks it into the end zone for a touchback.
  • CU ends the next drive with a 19-yard field goal made by James Stefanou. Beau Bisharat got involved in a big way this drive, including a 47 yard gain to get CU into UNH territory. Alex Fontenot and McMillian also got involved in the ground game as well. 38-7 CU. 3:20 left. Price's kick is returned to the 18.
  • TOUCHDOWN New Hampshire. On the second play of the drive, Lupoli finds O'Connor for a 71 yard score to make it a 38-14 game. 2:38 left. UNH kicks it though the end zone for a touchback. 
  • Next CU drive results in Colorado's second three-and-out of the game, including a couple of touches from Fontenot. Price punts it to the UNH 30. 
  • END OF THIRD QUARTER. 38-14 CU
Fourth Quarter
  • Colorado force UNH's fourth three-and-out of the game thanks to forcing two incompletions and the Wildcats being called for holding penalty. UNH punts to CU 15. 13:16 left.
  • CU unable to get much progress on the last drive. Bisharat ran for 22 yards on the drive, bringing his totals to 77 yards on the ground, yet a fumble by Noyer impeded CU's ability to get going. UNH ball on the 25. 11:40 left.
  • Colorado forces a turnover on downs at the UNH 43. Kyle Trego comes into the game and provides a couple of QB hurries. Jonathan Van Diest also comes in the game and makes a crucial tackle on 3rd and 6. Buffs break up a pass on 4th down to get the ball back in UNH territory.
  • TOUCHDOWN Colorado. Fontenot gets a heavy workload this drive and it leads to a 15 yard rush into the end zone. 30 rushing yards for him that drive. 45-14 CU. A five minute 21 second drive. 4:24 left. Price kicks into the end zone for a touchback. 
  • Daniel Talley recovers Gallagher's fumble and CU takes over at the UNH 39. CU have only allowed 224 total yards this afternoon. 
  • Tyler Lytle comes in at quarterback, CU runs four run plays and turns the ball over on downs with a minute left to play. 
  • UNH driving as they complete a 37-yard play into Colorado territory. New Hampshire are attempting to score in the final few seconds of the game.
