No Change For Buffs In USTFCCCA Rankings

BOULDER — The University of Colorado women's cross country team continues to be the second-ranked team in the USTFCCCA Poll, while the men remain seventh. Both teams have held those rankings since the preseason poll was released in August.
The CU women recorded 318 points, 12 behind top-ranked New Mexico. The Buffs are the top Pac-12 Conference team in the poll, but there are three teams in the top five. Stanford is third with 305 points and Oregon is fourth with 295 points. Boise State rounds out the top five with 287 points.
On the men's side, the Buffs have held steady at seventh, this week with 270 points which was just four behind sixth-place Alabama (274). Northern Arizona has been the top team in the nation since the first poll and has recorded 330 points. BYU is second (315) and Portland is third (302). Stanford is the highest ranked men's team in the Pac-12 at fourth (296) and Iowa State is the fifth ranked team this week (282).
In the regional polls, the CU women are ranked second to New Mexico, and the men are third behind NAU and BYU.
After almost a month off, both teams will be in action this weekend. The varsity teams will face some tough action at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday, Sept. 28, while the emerging varsity will race on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Stanford Invitational.
