CU honored by the United Soccer Coaches

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Colorado women's soccer team earned its eighth straight United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award this month. The achievement is for the 2018-19 season.

To qualify for the award a team must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

"Another great year in the classroom for our student-athletes," head coach Danny Sanchez stated. "We appreciate being recognized again by the United Soccer Coaches Association. Outside of the players hard work, all the credit goes to the staff in the Herbst Academic Center led by our academic coordinator, Chris Howlett, and Kris Livingston. They are 100 percent invested in the academic success of our student-athletes and we are fortunate to have them working with us."

Colorado finished the 2018-19 school year with a 3.23 team GPA. The Buffaloes have had a 3.0 or better for 21 consecutive semesters entering this fall. The team has had 14 consecutive semesters with a 3.2 or higher.

Last season, the Buffs had 11 individuals earn Academic All-Pac-12 honors. Libby Geraghty and Hannah Cardenas earned first and second team selections, respectively.
