#NFLBuffs: Recapping The Season At The First Quarter Mark

October 02, 2019 | Football

Week four was relatively quiet for our #NFLBuffs, but through the first quarter of the 2019 season they have started to accrue some solid stats.

Chidobe Awuzie led the former Buffs this week with a strong defensive performance against the Saints. Awuzie recorded six tackles, five of which were solo, as well as a pass breakup and an interception. The takeaway gave both Awuzie and the Cowboys defense their first interception of the season in a 12-3 loss to the Saints.

So far this season, Awuzie has recorded 17 tackles (15 solo), four third-down stops, three pass breakups and one interception to help the Cowboys start off 3-1.

Mason Crosby was solid yet again this week, as it was the second game in a row that he accounted for a third of the Packers overall points (9 points in a 27-16 victory over the Broncos). Crosby connected on all three of his PAT attempts and was 2-2 on field goals, with a long of 31 yards. David Bakhtiari kept his strong season going as he helped Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers throw for 422 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-27 loss to the Eagles. Bakhtiari came out of week four as the Packers second highest rated offensive player with a 76.3 rating according to ProFootballFocus.

Phillip Lindsay rushed nine times for 53 yards against the Jaguars while adding one reception for seven yards in a 26-24 loss. So far this season, he has rushed 54 times for 213 yards and two touchdowns while adding 13 receptions for 109 yards as well.
