BOULDER - Women's basketball's Mya Hollingshed and football's Evan Price were named CU Athletes of the Week, presented by Arrow, for the week of Nov. 4-10.
Hollingshed, a junior from Houston, Texas, helped the Colorado women to an 80-57 win to start the season over NJIT. Hollingshed scored a game-high 22 points, five steals and add four rebounds. Colorado totaled 40 points in the paint and 25 points off of NJIT turnovers. It was Hollingshed's seventh career 20-point game. Â
Price, a redshirt freshman from Evergreen, Colo., scored 10 points for the Buffaloes as he went 3-of-3 on field goals and 1-of-1 on extra points in CU's 16-13 win over Stanford. Price drilled a game-winning field goal as time expired, making it just the third game-winning field goal as time expired in school history. He became the first freshman in school history to be involved in a game-winning score in the final two minutes of the game. (Mason Crosby made a 23-yard field goal to send the game into overtime, as CU eventually beat Kansas, 50-47, in 2003). Price continued his impressive start to his career, as he is now 7-of-8 in his career on field goals. With this win, the CU football team keeps its glimmering bowl game hopes alive.
