Buffs Wrangle Cowgirls, 58-46
December 07, 2025 | Women's Basketball
BOULDER – Colorado women's basketball (7-3, 0-0 Big 12) defeated Wyoming (3-5, 0-0 Mountain West), 58-46, at the CU Events Center on Sunday, Dec. 7.
The Buffaloes came back during the second quarter after ending the first down by three. The Black and Gold extended their lead throughout the second half to beat Wyoming, 58-46.
"Lots of good things that we did tonight, obviously not the best fourth quarter," head coach JR Payne stated. "I think they were in the bonus with five minutes to go, so we put them on the line a lot, but I thought we did some really good things. Only eight turnovers. We forced 17 turnovers, held them to 40% shooting. Kids well below their averages. We knew it would be like a really tough, gritty game, because every game with Wyoming is tough and gritty, so no real surprise that we weren't able to open it up further than we wanted to. But proud, just a real collective effort. I think every single player on the team got a rebound almost."
The Buffs recorded a season low eight turnovers. Colorado had more rebounds (37-29), bench points (29-9), points in the paint (34-16) and steals (10-4) than the Cowgirls. In the second quarter, the Buffaloes only allowed four points.
