#NFLBuffs: Lindsay Reaches 2,000 Yard Milestone
November 06, 2019 | Football
Phillip Lindsay lead the charge this week for our #NFLBuffs -- helping the Broncos defeat the Browns in a Sunday afternoon matchup.
Â
Lindsay rushed nine times for 92 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory, helping him eclipse the 2,000 career yards from scrimmage mark (2,006) -- making him the fifth running back in Denver history to reach the milestone within 24 games.Â
Â
In the closing minutes of the first half, Lindsay broke open a huge 41-yard run to help set up a Broncos field goal.
Â
Later in the third quarter, Lindsay utilized his speed to break open a 31-yard touchdown run to put the Broncos up 23-12. After crossing the goal line, Lindsay was sure to show some brotherly love as he handed off the pigskin to his younger brother Zach.Â
Â
And he wasn't done yet, as he helped ice the game in the fourth quarter by picking up a 16-yard first down out of the wildcat formation to put the finishing touches on Denver's 24-19 victory.
Â
Chidobe Awuzie showed some Colorado love on his helmet as the Cowboys dominated the Giants 37-18 on Monday Night Football -- Awuzie recorded six tackles (five solo) and one pass breakup in the victory.
Â
Jimmy Smith returned from a knee sprain he suffered in week one to help the Ravens hand the undefeated Patriots their first loss of the season, as he recorded three solo tackles and one pass breakup in a 37-20 victory.
Â
Mason Crosby connected on his lone 54-yard field goal attempt in the Packers 16-11 loss to the Chargers.Â
Â
Paul Richardson had a solid outing where he caught four passes for 42 yards in a 14-9 loss to the Bills.
Â
Isaiah Oliver had one solo tackle and two pass breakups in the Falcons 27-20 loss to the Seahawks.
