Pregame:
  • The Colorado Buffaloes (3-6, 1-5 Pac-12) are coming off a 31-14 loss to UCLA. The Stanford Cardinal (4-4, 3-3 Pac-12) are coming off a bye week and a 41-31 win over Arizona before that. 
  • The Buffaloes won the previous meeting between these two teams 10-5 in 2016.
  • This game is the 105th annual Homecoming Game for the Buffaloes.
  • Colorado remains alive for bowl eligibility if they can win their last three games. Stanford must win at least two of their last four games to be bowl eligible. 
Uniforms: The Buffaloes will be wearing gold helmets with black jerseys and pants. The Cardinal will be wearing white helmets, jerseys and pants.
Captains: Colorado captains for the day are senior WR Tony Brown, junior LB Nate Landman and senior SN J.T. Bale.
Weather: Sunny and 77 degrees
Coin Toss: Colorado won the toss and elected to receive. Stanford will defend the south goal. 

1Q: On a drive highlighted with some strong runs from Alex Fontenot, the Buffaloes capped off a 9 play, 75 yard drive with a 13 yard rushing touchdown from Steven Montez. Point after attempt from Evan Price was good. Colorado leads 7-0 with 11:14 remaining in the 1st quarter. 
1Q: After Stanford moved the ball well down the field, Davion Taylor of Colorado came up with a big tackle behind the line of scrimmage on third down to force the Cardinal to attempt a field goal. Field goal attempt from Ryan Sanborn was good. Colorado leads 7-3 with 5:58 remaining in the 1st quarter. 
1Q: After Steven Montez overthrew K.D. Nixon on third down, the Buffaloes were forced to punt. Punt from Alex Kinney went 38 yards and was fair caught. Stanford will begin their drive at their own 20 yard line. 
1Q: The Colorado defense came up strong forcing a three and out for the Cardinal. Punt from Ryan Sanborn went 43 yards and out of bounds at the Colorado 30 yard line. 1st and 10 CU. 
1Q: Alex Fontenot rushed for three yards. Pass from Steven Montez was complete to Laviska Shenault Jr. for an 11 yard gain. 1st and 10 CU from the CU 44 yard line. End of 1st quarter. Colorado leads 7-3.

2Q: Colorado moved the ball into Cardinal territory after a 29 yard reception from Laviska Shenault Jr. However, on the next play a pass from Steven Montez was intercepted by J.J. Parson of Stanford and returned 11 yards to the Stanford 36 yard line. 1st and 10 Stanford. 
2Q: After nearly being stopped on third down early in the drive, quarterback K.J. Costello and the Cardinal completed a pair of passes to move the ball to the CU 20 yard line. From there Colorado would hold the Cardinal and force them to a field goal attempt. 36 yard field goal attempt from Ryan Sanborn was good. Colorado leads 7-6 with 9:09 remaining in the 2nd quarter.
2Q: After getting a first down the Buffaloes could not move the ball any further and were forced to punt. Punt from Alex Kinney went 54 yards and through the end zone for a touchback. 1st and 10 Stanford from their own 20 yard line. 
2Q: Derrion Rakestraw came up with an interception to give Colorado possession after a quarterback hurry by Mustafa Johnson. Colorado will take over from their own 20 yard line.  
2Q: Colorado moved the ball well on the ground and in the air to move the ball to the Cardinal 17 yard line. From there the Buffs could not move the ball any further and were forced to attempt a field goal. Field goal attempt from Evan Price was good. Colorado leads 10-6 with 0:32 remaining in the 2nd quarter. 
2Q: Stanford ran two plays and gained 4 yards before time expired. End of 2nd quarter. Colorado leads 10-6 at halftime.

3Q: Stanford began their drive deep in their own territory from their own 7 yard line but were able to get themselves out. They moved the ball all the way to the CU 14 yard line but could not go any further. Stanford was forced to attempt a field goal and the attempt from Sanborn was no good. Colorado takes over from their own 20 yard line 1st and 10 CU. 
3Q: The Buffaloes went three and out. Punt from Alex Kinney goes 59 yards and out of bounds at the Stanford 13 yard line. 1st and 10 Cardinal. 
3Q: The Cardinal were able to move the ball well through the air to get into CU territory after CU cornerback K.J. Trujillo nearly came up with an interception early in the drive. Stanford then could not move the ball any further after back-to-back CU sacks from Mustafa Johnson and Terrence Lang. Punt from Stanford went 41 yards and was fair caught. CU will begin their drive from their own 12 yard line. 
3Q: The Buffaloes failed to find an offensive rhythm on their drive and were forced to punt. Punt from Alex Kinney went 48 yards and was fair caught at the Stanford 25 yard line. 1st and 10 Cardinal. 
3Q: The Cardinal ran two plays for 9 yards before being penalized and being backed up to their own 19 yard line. 2nd and 17 Stanford. End of 3rd quarter. Colorado leads 10-6.

4Q: The Colorado defense were in good shape as they forced the Cardinal into a 3rd and long situation. However K.J. Costello connected with Simi Fehoko for a 79 yard Stanford touchdown. PAT was good from Sanborn. Stanford leads 13-10 with 14:05 remaining in the 4th quarter. 
4Q: With the help of a Stanford penalty, Colorado was able to move the ball down to the Stanford 6 yard line but could not punch it in. Field goal attempt from Evan Price was good. Game is tied at 13 with 7:34 remaining in the 4th quarter. 
4Q: Davion Taylor came up big for the Buffaloes defense with two tackles and a pass breakup on Stanford's three plays in that drive and helped the defense force a three and out. Punt from Sanborn went 46 yards and was fair caught by Dimitri Stanley at the CU 20 yard line. 1st and 10 CU.
4Q: With strong running, some completions from Montez and a defensive pass interference call, the Buffaloes were able to move the ball and run some clock. The Buffaloes moved the ball to the Stanford 19 yard line and set up Evan Price to attempt a field goal. Field goal attempt from Price was good as time expired. End of game. Colorado win 16-13.
