McMullen And Rhoads Named CU Athletes Of The Week, Presented By Arrow

BOULDER—Track and field's Avery McMullen and Wyatt Rhoads were named CU Athletes of the week, presented by Arrow for the week of Dec. 2-8.

McMullen, a freshman from Franklin, Tenn., finished as the top collegiate athlete in the pentathlon at the Mines Classic. Her mark was good for eighth while her 60 hurdles time was top-10 and her long jump was fifth in school history. McMullen continued to impress, as she was sixth in the CU long jump top-10, 8th in the 60 hurdles and 8th in the pentathlon. 

Rhoads, a senior from Ames, Iowa, placed third in the heptathlon and moved to eighth in school history in the event. He posted top-five results in the event's pole vault and 60 hurdles.

Women's Basketball- Mya Hollingshed

The junior for Houston, Texas averaged a double-double last week in CU's wins over Texas Southern and Xavier. She opened the week with 14 points and 12 rebounds at home against TSU. She helped Colorado to a win on the road at Xavier, totaling 12 points and 12 boards. Hollingshed averaged 13 points and 12 rebounds on the week. The 12 rebounds in each game matched her career-high. Colorado is one of just 15 teams in the nation to remain unbeaten.
