5 Reasons to Attend: Buffs vs. Loyola Marymount

BOULDER - Thanksgiving has come and gone and yet again I had to move up another belt size, but fear not! While the turkey, gravy, and way too many pieces of pie consumed our break, we are finally back at school... where we will now tackle the two-headed monster of procrastination and final exams. Before anyone hits the panic button please remember one thing, IT'S BASKETBALL SEASON. From my coffee addiction to yours, I encourage you to balance your schedule by attending the Colorado Buffaloes Men's Basketball game this Wednesday as we take on the Loyola Marymount Lions. I'm sure we have all realized that Norlin Library will be our home for the next two weeks, but here are 5 reasons why you should come out and support the Buffs.

1. No. 20 in the AP Poll
After taking down a 2018 March Madness contender in UC Irvine, Colorado followed up the win with a W over Clemson in the MGM Main Event Championship Game. Sure, Clemson football has Trevor Lawrence and a wicked defensive front. But do you want to know what their basketball team didn't have? Colorado's ability to rally and leave with a win. After our boys showed out in Vegas, they came back to defeat Sacramento State 59-45. It's happening, this isn't a drill and it really is happening. We're playin' games and takin' names, so don't miss out on this talented group that wants to show-out for their fans.

2. $800 Half-Court Shot
I've never been one to complain about getting free money and I strongly believe you should feel the same way. We need students there to sign up and hopefully sink a shot to win what is turning into a reason to stop asking your parents for money on the weekends. Look, if you don't make the shot it's no big deal. On the other hand, if you DO make the shot, then feel free to Venmo me for making you aware of the opportunity.

3. FREE BACON
Every time I go to a sporting event, I'm always calculating the next second until I get to eat food that is reasonably priced. Do you know why I won't be worrying about that for Wednesday's game? Because there is FREE BACON. It's simple really, you could spend $7.99 on bacon at your local King Soopers or Safeway, or you can come out and watch the Buffs while you eat bacon for free! What've you got to lose? All we're trying to do is provide you with a cure to your Thanksgiving food withdrawal symptoms.

4. The Buffaloes Are Undefeated
A little trip down memory (very recent) lane as the Duke Blue Devils were defeated by the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks 85-83. I'm going to assume that you either saw that all over ESPN or you went back to re-read that a couple of times. We have fewer losses than Duke. The Blue Devil fan base is great, but I guarantee you they'd be a whole lot better if they could say their team is undefeated. Well, you have the ability to say that my friend! Opening up the season this strongly can only boost your confidence as a fan. With your help, the Buffs can keep the train rolling! What else would you be doing on a Wednesday night? Trying to relive your childhood through Disney+ can take a night off. I'm one more viewing away from having Finding Nemo memorized… come out to the game and let's keep swimming.

5. DJ Ambitious Boy
Behold, a Boulder alumnus who is ripping on that sound board every game. Don't feel you need to do it for the half-court shot, free bacon, or our undefeated record, but do it to show DJ Ambitious Boy some love.
