Cahill And Stinson Named Pac-12 Players of the Week

BOULDER — After upending then-No. 14 Virginia Tech on Feb. 16, the University of Colorado lacrosse team swept the Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week honors as sophomore Eliza Cahill was named the defensive player of the week and senior Miranda Stinson was selected the offensive player of the week.
This is the first Pac-12 weekly honor for Cahill, while it is the second for Stinson.
Cahill led the Buffs with eight draw control wins and also recorded three ground balls and had one caused turnover. She played a critical part in CU's transition game and helped CU clear at 77.7% (14 of 18). She was also key in breaking the ball out.
Stinson tallied six points for the Buffs with four goals and two assists. She really got CU's offense going, scoring three of CU's first four goals in the first 10 minutes of the game. She led the Buffs with three caused turnovers and also recorded four ground balls and three draw controls.
The No. 14 Buffs have a pair of top-25 match-ups this week in Boulder. On Friday, Feb. 22, the Buffs will host No. 6 Stony Brook, which is opening its season in Boulder. Then on Sunday, Feb. 24, the Buffs host No. 25 Michigan.
