CU Girls Basketball Camps Set for June
March 18, 2019 | Women's Basketball
BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team will once again host a set of girls basketball camps throughout the month of June. All abilities and age levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced high school players looking to play at the collegiate level.
CU will host five different camps on campus in and around the CU Events Center.
Individual Camp is a great opportunity for any player looking to develop and refine their fundamental skills in a fun and entertaining environment. The sessions will offer specialized basketball instruction in both offensive and defensive areas. The first session will be held June 3-6, followed by a second session June 10-13.
The Little Dribblers Camp is for the first-time camper or a camper who would benefit from a half day camp. Emphasis is placed on learning basketball skills, rules of the game, and sportsmanship. The team will offer two sessions for the Little Dribblers. The first is set for June 3-6 and the second will be from June 10-13.
New this camp season is the Buffs' Shooting Camp. The program is designed to improve footwork, shooting technique and accuracy through instruction and repetition. The first session is set for June 7 and the second will held on June 14.
Elite Camp is designed to take a player's game to the next level. Emphasis will be placed on developing high level skills while receiving individualized instruction from the CU coaching staff. Advanced individual and team concepts focusing on offensive and defensive fundamentals will also be taught. This session will also include post/guard breakdown concepts. Campers will be taught proper shot mechanics, footwork and mindset needed to become a great shooter. There will be an emphasis on making game shots at game spots at game speed. The session will also include position-specific footwork. Elite Camp will take place from June 15.
The Team Camp runs June 28-30 and is for high school varsity, JV and sophomore/freshmen teams looking to improve their play. Each team is guaranteed at least six games and will be officiated by high school and/or college referees.
