Leonard, Bey Named CU Athletes of the Week Presented by Arrow

BOULDER – Women's basketball's Kennedy Leonard and men's basketball's Tyler Bey were named the CU Athletes of the Week, presented by Arrow, for the period of Feb. 25 – Mar. 3.
Leonard, a senior from Southlake Texas, who's been sidelined the majority of Pac-12 play with a foot injury led the Buff's this week by averaging 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists in their two road losses. Over the two games, the point guard added 3 steals and was perfect from the free throw line, going 7-7. The Buff's rounded out their regular season with a 12-17 overall record. They now look forward to a matchup against Arizona State in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament on Thursday.
Bey, a sophomore from Las Vegas, Nev., recorded his third-straight double-double in the win versus Utah with 17 points and 10 rebounds, he also added 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. This is his fourth double-double in five games, his 12th of the season, and his 14th of his career. He has five-straight games with double-digit rebounds and 17 on the season. Bey's 12 double-doubles are the second-most in the Pac-12 this season. Bey is averaging 16 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 62.7 percent (32-51) over the last five games. His three assists were a season high and tied his personal best. Bey and the Buff's will finish off their regular season with two home games this upcoming week.
