Colorado Releases 2019 Schedule

BOULDER – The University of Colorado women's volleyball team announced the 2019 volleyball schedule Monday afternoon.

Colorado will play 17 home matches, including a match against UCLA Oct. 13 that will air on ESPN2. The 2019 Black and Gold inter-squad scrimmage kicks off the action in Boulder Aug. 24 at 3 p.m.

The 2019 regular season begins Aug 30 at home against Wyoming at 6 p.m. in the 2019 Buffs Invitational. Colorado will also compete against Long Island University Brooklyn and UC Santa Barbara the following day at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectfully.

Colorado is set to repeat as competitors in the BIG TEN/Pac-12 Challenge, this season at the University of Iowa. In the first road match of the season the Buffaloes take on the Hawkeyes Sept. 6 at 6 p.m., then will compete against Illinois the following day.

CU will compete against in-state rival CSU in a new home-and-home set of matches this season. The Buffs will travel to Moby Arena Thursday, Sept. 12, to take on the Rams at 7 p.m. The two squads will then reconvene at the CU Events Center Friday night at 6 p.m.

The final weekend of the non-conference season will see CU host the Colorado Classic with Oakland, University of Maryland Baltimore Country (UMBC) and Campbell University. Colorado opens against Oakland at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, then see a double-header against UMBC at noon and Campbell at 7:30 p.m.

The Pac-12 Conference schedule opens with a tough week on the road for the Buffs against Utah on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m., then flying to Corvallis to take on Oregon State Friday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. Another road weekend against the Arizona schools go by before CU returns home to take on USC and UCLA on Friday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2:30 p.m., respectfully.

The Buffs close out the final four matches of the first half of conference play with a trip to Stanford and Cal as well as a home set against the Washington squads Oct. 25 and Oct. 27. The homestand continues into the second half of the Pac-12 schedule with the Arizona schools coming to Boulder Nov. 1 and Nov. 3.

The final eight matches of the season begin with a long four-match road stretch to Los Angeles and the Washington schools. The Buffs play at UCLA Thursday, Nov. 7, and at USC Saturday, Nov. 9.

After the trip to the Washington schools the Buffaloes return home for the final four matches. Cal begins the homestand Friday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m., followed by the defending national champions in Stanford Sunday Nov. 24. Oregon rolls into Boulder the day before Thanksgiving, followed up with a senior match against Utah on Nov. 30. CU plays four matches in the final nine days of the season.
