CU will play six of its 11 games at home
BOULDER – Colorado women's basketball head coach JR Payne announced the team's non-conference schedule on Tuesday. The Buffaloes will navigate through 11 games leading up to the Pac-12 season.Â
The Buffs return to the CU Events Center with an exhibition against Regis on Nov. 4
Colorado opens the 2019-20 season with a pair of home contests. The Buffs will tipoff the season with their first-ever matchup against the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) on Sunday, Nov. 10. Â The opener will mark the return of former CU assistant coach and current NJIT assistant, Latonya Watson.
The team will close the homestand on Thursday, Nov. 14, battling Wisconsin. The Buffs and Badgers each have a win in the two-game history between the two schools. It will be Wisconsin's first visit to Boulder CU's 58-48 win on Nov. 26, 2011.
The Buffs' first road trip features a pair of regional foes. Colorado will head up I-25 and visit Wyoming on Nov. 17. It will be CU's first trip to Laramie since 2015. CU will then turnaround and face Colorado State at Moby Arena on Nov. 22.Â
CU returns to Boulder on Nov. 24, opening a four-game homestand. The Buffs will host a pair of first-time opponents during the stretch, starting with Jacksonville University. Indiana State will make its inaugural visit to the CU Event on Nov. 26. The homestand concludes with Texas Southern on Dec. 3.Â
Payne's squad hits the road for a quick trip to the Midwest, stopping over in Cincinnati, Ohio, for a Dec. 6 date with Xavier. It will be the first meeting between the Buffs and the Musketeers.Â
Colorado's final home game of the non-conference season is set for Dec. 12. CU will renew its series against Denver for the first time in five seasons. The Buffs hold an 8-2 record over the Pioneers, including a 5-0 showing at home.Â
The Buffs wrap up the non-conference season with a trip to the Big Easy for the Tulane Classic. Colorado opens the two-game tournament on Dec. 20 against UAB. CU closes the trip on Dec. 21 against Tulane.
CU's schedule will be complete when the Pac-12 announces its complete schedule later this summer. Â Â
