BOULDER — Before the 2020 season begins February 8, the University of Colorado lacrosse team will have a chance to test itself against one of the best perennial programs in the nation, Northwestern.
Â
The Buffs and Wildcats will square off this Sunday, January 26, at 11 a.m. at Kittredge Field. This is a change in venue as the tilt was originally scheduled for the Indoor Practice Facility. With the forecast calling for mostly sunny skies and a high near 56, university officials decided to move the game outside. Â Â
Â
Both programs finished the 2019 season ranked in the top 20 of the IWLCA Poll with NU coming in fourth and CU 19th. Â Colorado finished last season with an 11-8 record after advancing to the NCAA second round, while Northwestern earned a 16-5 mark and fell to Maryland in the NCAA Semifinals.
Â
Colorado opens the season February 8 against Florida in Gainesville, Fla. The Gators were 14-7 in 2019 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. UF was also ranked 13th in the final IWLCA Poll.
