BOULDER - Well, back to school for all of us. I don't expect everyone to be excited about it, but it is what it is. We are now in the home stretch (to spring break at least) and it's time to implement the "new year, new me" mentality. Where you fulfill your resolution by hitting the rec for the first two weeks of school and then not seeing it until next semester. So how about we kick off the new year with a resolution that is easy to follow, go out and support your Colorado Buffaloes Women's Basketball team! The Buffs welcome No. 10 Oregon State (16-4) and No. 3 Oregon (17-2) to Boulder this weekend. The ladies will face the Beavers on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. and the Ducks on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. Here's why you should stay committed to your new resolution and hang with us at the CU Events Center this weekend!
1. Two Top-10 AP Poll OpponentsOregon State came in at No. 10 and Oregon moved up in the rankings to No. 3 in the updated AP Women's Basketball Poll. It's very simple... we need YOU to come out and show-off our home court advantage! Also, have you heard of Sabrina Ionescu (see below)? Let's shut that down.
2. I Heart The Buffs T-shirt Giveaway
Our favorite kind of thing as students, FREE stuff. With a valid Buff OneCard, students can get a throwback "I Heart The Buffs" t-shirt at the game on Thursday.
3. Throwback Thursday
Along with your totally vintage Buffs t-shirt you just picked up at the marketing table, we'll be throwin' it back all night long. Throwback tee. $1 popcorn for all fans. Throwback tunes from different decades each quarter.
4. FREE Chick-Fil-A
Do we really even need to expand on this? FREE Chick-Fil-A for students on Saturday. Don't forget your Buff OneCard. Be there. Be hungry.
5. Happy Birthday Chip
It's been a year to remember for the #1 mascot in the country. Yes, Chip was just recently crowned the 2020 Mascot National Champion (not shocked). And now it's time to celebrate his birthday in style on Saturday: with free Chick-Fil-A, locking down Sabrina Ionescu and getting a W over the Ducks.
