Rokos Adds Cassidy Gray To Buffs Roster

BOULDER—The Colorado Buffaloes ski team has added Canadian National Champion Cassidy Gray to its roster, coach Richard Rokos announced Friday. Â
Gray, an alpine skier for Panorama, British Columbia, will be a freshman with four years of eligibility. Â Just this fall, she won the giant slalom race at the Canadian National Championships. Â In 2020 on the NorAm Cup circuit, the level directly beneath the World Cup, she was ranked eight in alpine combined, 11th in Super G and 13th in giant slalom. Â She is currently ranked the No. 130 GS skier in the world and No. 135 Super G skier worldwide, as well as being ranked No. 301 in slalom.Â
She has skied competitively since 2008, for Team Panorama from 2008-19 and then for the Alberta Ski Team from 2019-20. Â She has been a member of the Canadian National Team since 2018, currently a part of its NextGen program. Â
She has 99 starts in official FIS races including 34 starts on the NorAm circuit as well as competing at the junior world championships and the Canadian National Championships. Â In her 99 stars, she has 52 top 10 finishes, with 29 podium appearances and 14 race victories. Â She has nine top 10 finishes in NorAm races. Â
She is planning to major in integrative physiology at Colorado and is interested in entering the medical field. Â She enjoys hiking, biking, and powder skiing and has five siblings. Â When asked why she chose Colorado, she said, "I love the town of Boulder and the school has such a cool vibe to it that it just felt like home right away."
