BOULDER—The Colorado Buffaloes ski team has added Canadian National Champion Cassidy Gray to its roster, coach Richard Rokos announced Friday.

Gray, an alpine skier for Panorama, British Columbia, will be a freshman with four years of eligibility.  Just this fall, she won the giant slalom race at the Canadian National Championships.  In 2020 on the NorAm Cup circuit, the level directly beneath the World Cup, she was ranked eight in alpine combined, 11th in Super G and 13th in giant slalom.  She is currently ranked the No. 130 GS skier in the world and No. 135 Super G skier worldwide, as well as being ranked No. 301 in slalom.

She has skied competitively since 2008, for Team Panorama from 2008-19 and then for the Alberta Ski Team from 2019-20.  She has been a member of the Canadian National Team since 2018, currently a part of its NextGen program.

She has 99 starts in official FIS races including 34 starts on the NorAm circuit as well as competing at the junior world championships and the Canadian National Championships.  In her 99 stars, she has 52 top 10 finishes, with 29 podium appearances and 14 race victories.  She has nine top 10 finishes in NorAm races.

She is planning to major in integrative physiology at Colorado and is interested in entering the medical field.  She enjoys hiking, biking, and powder skiing and has five siblings.  When asked why she chose Colorado, she said, "I love the town of Boulder and the school has such a cool vibe to it that it just felt like home right away."
