Boee, Hansen, Lawless, And Wright Named CU Athletes Of The Week

BOULDER- Magnus Boee (Skiing), Dani Hansen (Soccer)Zoe Lawless (Lacrosse), and McKinley Wright IV (Men's Basketball) are the CU Athletes of the Week, presented by Arrow. 
 
Boee continued his stellar season with three wins in four races over the week, including two individual regional championships. He is the first Buff skier since Mads Stroem in 2016 to win both regional races, and he is the 19th skier in program history to accomplish the feat. The three wins were his sixth, seventh, and eighth wins of the season. The eight wins are tied for the most in CU history for a men's Nordic skier and his four wins in both classic and freestyle also matched the school record. 

Boee has now won the Athelte of the Week award three times this season.
 
Hansen returned to her old stomping grounds at Washington and turned in two stellar performances at goalkeeper. The UW transfer started the weekend off with a career-high 11 save performance on Friday in a 0-0 draw. The Huskies tested their former teammate with eight shots on goal in the first 70 minutes of play, all saved by Hansen. The redshirt sophomore also added nine saves in a 2-1 loss on Sunday. In all, she stopped 20 of 21 shots in the two matches last week. 

Hansen also won the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week for the second consecutive week. 
 

Lawless recorded a hat-trick on Sunday, with all of her goals coming in the second half, in a 14-7 upset win over No. 14 Denver. The senior also added two assists, both to Charlie Rudy, in the first win over a ranked opponent for the Buffs since May 2019 win they beat No.18 Dartmouth. Lawless has now scored goals in five different games in her career, and in all five games she scored exactly three times. 
 


Wright is ending his career playing at CU Event Center on a terror. The senior totaled 15 points, a career-high 14 assists, four rebounds, three steals, and a block in a 18-point win over No. 19 USC on Thursday. His 14 assists were just one shy of the CU single-game record. On senior night against UCLA on Saturday, Wright had 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting, six assists, and five rebounds. 

Wright was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week for the fourth time this season. He has now won the CU Athlete of the Week award 16 times which is tied with Josh Scott for second all-time.
