Multiple Buffs Earn CU Athlete Of The Week, Presented By Arrow

BOULDER- Abby Nichols (Cross Country), Eriana Henderson (Outdoor Track), Jabari Walker (Men's Basketball), Peanut Tuitele (Women's Basketball), and Shyra James (Soccer) are the CU Athletes of the Week, presented by Arrow.
Nichols finished 18th in the NCAA Cross Country Championships last week en route to being named an All-American. The Ohio State graduate transfer moved up 11 spots in the last 2K to finish 18th in the championship 6K race with a time of 20:35.8. Nichols led the Buffs to a seventh-place overall finish which marks the eighth straight top-10 finish at NCAAs for the women's team.
Henderson won both women's hurdles races in the outdoor track and field season opener at the Jerry Quiller Classic last week. Henderson was dominant in each race, winning the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.02 and the 400 hurdles where she crossed the finish line in 59.52 seconds.
Walker had a coming out party to the national scene of college basketball last week in the NCAA Tournament. The freshman scored a career-high 24 points in the Round of 64 against Georgetown in a 96-73 routing. Walker was perfect from 3-point range on the day going 5-for-5 and was 9-for-10 from the field.
Tuitele was excellent for the women's basketball team in the WNIT last week. Tuitele recorded a double-double in an opening round win against Louisiana with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Against rival Nebraska in a second round victory, Tuitele filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, eight rebounds, and a career-high six assists.
James shined for the Buffs soccer team last week in a pair of wins over No.14-ranked Southern California and Utah. The freshman started the week with a game-winning goal in double overtime in a 3-2 upset for the Buffs over the Trojans. James then scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Utah to cap the week. James was also named Offensive Player of the Week by the Pac-12 for her performances.
