March 24, 2021 | Tennis

Adds Match Against San Francisco

BOULDER – Colorado women's tennis returns back to California for a match against UC-Santa Barbara Friday at 10 a.m. as well as adding a match against San Francisco Sunday at 2 p.m. MT.

The Buffaloes (7-6, 1-4 Pac-12) have lost 22-straight points, tying a school record set in 2014. The team will look to rebound after facing five-straight conference opponents. They will look to Sophia Derivan and Sara Nayar to help turn things around, as the duo have a 6-1 record in doubles and have recently been ranked as the 48th-best tandem by the ITA.

Colorado is led by Megan Forster's 8-3 individual record. Both Derivan and Maria Campos have seven wins as well, while Fleur Eggink and Nayar each have six. In doubles, Nayar has an 8-3 record with Eggink and Derivan.

This is the eighth matchup against UCSB for CU, who has never taken down the Gauchos. It is the third matchup against USF, with San Francisco getting the win last in 2013.

SCOUTING UCSB
The Gauchos have only competed in three matches this season, a 4-2 win against UC Davis, 6-1 loss to Cal and 7-0 loss to Pepperdine. They were down 3-1 against USC when the match was canceled due to rain.

SCOUTING USF
The Dons are 6-3 this season with a 7-0 loss to Cal, 4-3 loss to San Jose State and a 5-2 loss to Cal Poly. They have defeated UC Davis, Fresno State, Sacramento State and Nevada.
