Four Buffs Earn CU Athletes Of The Week, Presented By Arrow

BOULDER- Ellie Gower (Women's Golf), Madison Boreman (Track and Field), Sage Hurta (Track and Field), and Tyler Sconce (Track and Field) are the CU Athletes of the Week, presented by Arrow.
Gower finished tied for 13th in the Pac-12 Championships last week, posting a six-over 219 total. Gower led the way for the Buffs and completed the first top-15 finish of her collegiate career. The sophomore recorded a team-best 10 birdies.
Boreman had a stellar weekend at the Oregon Relays in both the steeplechase and 800 meters. Boreman finished second in the steeplechase, behind CU alum Val Constien, with a time of 9:48.09 which is good for fourth in the nation and an Olympic Trials qualifying mark. The next day, Boreman won the 800 meters with a time of 2:08.60.
Hurta raced in the women's 1,500 meters at the USATF Grand Prix where she posted a 4:08.38 time. That blazing time was the 11th-fastest in collegiate history and tied Jenny Simpson's mark on the same date 12 years ago as the fastest women's 1,500 run in the month of April for a collegiate runner. Hurta's time moves her into fourth in school history.
Sconce finished third in the hammer throw at the Jack Christiansen Invite over the weekend. Sconce threw a mark of 58.29 (191-03) which flies him into seventh in school history.
