Colorado Hosts Iowa Sunday

BOULDER – The University of Colorado women's tennis team hosts No.71-ranked Iowa Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center.

Colorado (3-3) rides a three-match win streak into its second ranked matchup of the season after taking down Gonzaga, Portland State and Portland. The Hawkeyes are tied for 71st in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) women's team rankings with a 4-2 record.

The Buffaloes are riding this win streak thanks to freshman Mila Stanojevic's 13 match win streak and a pair of clinching wins from senior Ky Ecton in Portland.

CU only captured one doubles point in the three wins but has played well in singles play thanks to three wins from Stanojevic and two from Maria Campos, Antonia Balzert and Ecton. Seven different Buffaloes have picked up wins in the streak including Caroline Pozo, Betina Tokac and Ellen Puzak.

Iowa comes to town with the third-ranked player in the NCAA in Alexa Noel. She has a record of 7-2 this season and is the lone ranked individual in Sunday's matchup. The Hawkeyes have wins over Marquette, Drake, North Florida and Missouri but recently lost to ranked instate rival Iowa State 4-0 and also have a 4-1 loss to Mississippi State.

The Hawkeyes head to Denver Thursday to take on the Pioneers before traveling to Boulder.
