Donnelly, Grozier Named Pac-12 Players of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – For the second time this season, a pair of Colorado Buffaloes have been named the Pac-12 Conference Lacrosse Players of the Week as Grace Donnelly (defensive) and Sadie Grozier (offensive) were awarded the honors on Monday.

Donnelly, a junior goalkeeper from Newtown Square, Pa., helped CU to a pair of victories last week over then-No. 24 Stanford and California at Kittredge Field. She made nine saves in the upset against the Cardinal on March 25, which snapped Stanford's 11-game conference win streak. One of those saves came with 0:42 left in the game while the Buffs were a player-down. Donnelly made a save on Galen Lew's free-position attempt, helping the Buffs maintain their one-goal advantage. On March 27 against Cal, she recorded 14 saves in the win. Through 120:00, she recorded a 46.9 saves percentage.

Grozier recorded eight goals and one assist in two games for Colorado. The fifth-year senior recorded two goals against Stanford and was 1-1 on free-position attempts. In the win against Cal, Grozier matched her career-high in goals and points. She scored six goals for the third time this season, the fourth time in her career, and added an assist to lead all point scorers with seven points. Grozier's first three goals came in the first quarter, putting the Buffs up 5-2.

This is the first weekly conference honor for Donnelly, while it is the third time Grozier has been honored as the offensive player of the week. Grozier was named the offensive player of the week on March 1 and on March 8, Devon Bayer (defensive) and Chloe Willard (offensive) were named the Pac-12 Players of the Week.

The Pac-12 is in its fifth season of women's lacrosse. Colorado leads the league with 25 all-time weekly awards. USC is second (22), Stanford is third (19), Arizona State is fourth (18), Oregon is fifth (3) and California is sixth (1).
