Dilling Takes Fifth In Alpine Combined At WUG

Sophomore Uses Third Fastest Slalom Run To Move Up 10 Spots
LAKE PLACID, N.Y.—Sophomore Jacob Dilling used the third-fastest slalom run to move up from 15th to a final position of fifth in the Alpine Combined position Monday at World University Games.Â
Dilling sat in 15th place after Sunday's Super-G race and then ran the slalom run in 45.69, third fastest in the field, moving up 10 spots into fifth in the final placements for the Alpine Combined competition. Â
Freshman Jack Reich, who sat in 18th after the Super-G race, moved up four spots to finish 14th with the 19th fastest slalom time in the field. Â
After racing Monday, the World University Games are at its midpoint. Â The current alpine schedule is medal competitions each of the next five days. Â On the cross country side, four medal events remain that will take place over the next six days. Â

After World University Games are over, racing will return to the college circuit with alpine teams competing in the Westminster Invitational Jan. 26-27 at Snowbird then heading to Bozeman to finish out the Montana State Invitational Jan. 30-31. Â CU's Spencer James Nelson Memorial Invitational will then open February at Steamboat Springs (Feb. 3-4, Nordic) and Eldora (Feb. 9-10, Alpine).Â
