
Williams Named McDonald’s All-American

BOULDER – University of Colorado men's basketball signee Cody Williams was named to the prestigious McDonald's All-America Team the organization announced on Tuesday.
Williams will be the fourth McDonald's All-American to suit up for the Buffaloes and the third directly from high school. The late Martice Moore was a McDonald's All-American in 1992 and played at Georgia Tech for two seasons before transferring to Colorado, where he played two years alongside 1995 McDonald's All-American Chauncey Billups. David Harrison was the most recent Colorado McDonald's All-American in 2001.
The 2023 McDonald's All-American Games will be held on Tuesday, Mar. 28, at the Toyota Center in Houston.
A 6-foot, 8-inch, 180-pound small forward from Gilbert, Ariz., Williams is Colorado's first five-star recruit since Harrison and is currently listed at No. 6 in the ESPN100 for the Class of 2023. 247Sports has Williams as the No. 8 player in the Class of 2023 while Rivals has him at No. 24.
Another member of Colorado's 2023 signing class, Assane Diop, a was a McDonald's All-America nominee out of Accelerated Prep in Denver. Williams, Diop and four-star Courtney Anderson of Vallejo, Calif., make up Colorado's 2023 class which currently ranks No. 15 in the nation by ESPN, No 18 by 247Sports and No. 24 by Rivals.
