Three Buffs Selected Academic All-District

BOULDER – Three Colorado women's basketball student-athletes were named 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District the association announced on Tuesday.
Jaylyn Sherrod, Frida Formann and Kindyll Wetta were among the honorees that will now be eligible for selection to the Academic All-America teams that will be announced in mid-March.
Sherrod, a two-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection, has started all 26 games she has played this season. The Birmingham, Ala., native is one of four players in the NCAA (DI) to average 10.0 points, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals this season. She matched her career-high with 27 points in CU's win over Washington State earlier and has scored 10 points or more in 14 games this season. Sherrod currently leads the Pac-12 with 131 assists. She is also tops in the conference with 63 total steals.
Formann, 2022 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection, leads the Buffs with her 38.4 3-point shooting percentage this season. The junior from Denmark is second in the Pac-12 with 55 3-pointers and is fourth with 2.2 makes per game. She made a season-high five 3's in the Buffs' win over No. 14 Arizona and has scored in double-figures 13 times this season. Formann surpassed 800 career points last in last week's win over Arizona State.
Wetta, a 2022 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection, hit the game-winning 3-pointer in CU's win over No. 8 UCLA. It was her first career-game-winning shot and just the eighth 3 of the season to that point for the sophomore. Wetta ranks 11th in the Pac-12 with 3.3 assists per game and is 13th in the conference with a 1.55 assist/turnover ratio. The Castle Rock, Colo., native made her first career start against Alcorn and has played in all 27 games this season. She scored a career-high 15 in CU's win against Air Force and handed out a season-high eight assists against Louisiana.
