
No. 62 Colorado Bounces Back Against South Dakota

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Colorado Buffaloes Tennis team improved to 7-3 snapping a two match losing streak against South Dakota with a 4-1 win in a neutral site match at the University of Nebraska. After losing a tough match on Friday the team bounced back early taking the doubles point and cruising to a win behind three singles victories.

How it happened
- The Buffs got the match started with a victory at No. 2 doubles from Antonia Balzert and Anya Nelson 6-4 over Bea Havlickova and Sydney Weinberg.
- Shortly after in their first match at No. 1 doubles Mila Stanojevic and Elys Ventura clinched the doubles point 6-3 against Paige Alter and Grace Chadick of South Dakota.
- Ellen Puzak and Betina Tokac were up 5-4 over Anna Medvyedyeva and Selena Bird when the doubles point was clinched leaving the match unfinished.
- The Buffs came out hot in singles starting at No. 4 Betina Tokac getting the win over Sydney Weinberg 6-, 2-0, retired.
- Elys Ventura extended the lead again for the Buffs at No. 2 singles with a win against Anna Medvyedyeva 6-0, 6-4.
- South Dakota started to close the gap at No. 6 singles with a victory from Selena Bird over Ellen Puzak 6-2, 6-3.
- In a tight match Antonia Balzert pulled it out for the Buffs in straight sets over Bea Havlickova 7-5, 7-5 to clinch and give Colorado the victory 4-1.
