Colorado Set As First University To Partner With Tempus Ex Machina

BOULDER and SAN FRANCISCO - The University of Colorado Athletic Department announced a direct partnership with technology startup Tempus Ex Machina Thursday, marking CU as the first university to capitalize on Tempus Ex's proprietary technology.

Tempus Ex's FusionFeedâ„¢ technology is the only solution that can synchronize and deliver every available piece of data generated by every data and video vendor at a live sporting event -- including every video angle, stats platform, and player tracker covering each play.

Colorado will leverage FusionFeedTM to create new technology-driven opportunities across several operational areas and will immediately begin to deploy several use-cases this upcoming football season.

"We're excited to start this new era of Colorado football by investing in the best technology available for Coach Prime and his staff, student-athletes and our fans." Colorado Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs Alexis Williams said. "We believe that giving our student-athletes access to never-before-seen game highlights, immediately after games, will help them build their personal brands and establish a deeper connection and engagement with our fans."

"Having access to Tempus Ex's technology will enable us to help our coaches and student-athletes with film study in a groundbreaking way, CU Director of Sports Video Craig Campanozzi said.  "These tools will increase our efficiency, enabling us to save countless hours of time, and give us access to new game footage."

"After breaking new ground with the Pac-12 Conference by empowering athletes to monetize their own game highlights, expanding access to fans and helping to improve player health and safety, we are eager to integrate our revolutionary technology across Conference teams — starting with the University of Colorado," said Annie Gerhart, co-founder and COO, Tempus Ex Machina.

These solutions will drive increased operational efficiency and new commercial opportunities across a number of Colorado's key athletics, administrative, and student-facing functions, including:

Giving Colorado's football staff near real-time video technology to be used before and after games, as well as powerful and data-rich tools to perform film analysis and game preparation leading up to games

Making an unprecedented volume of bespoke game highlights available to the Buffaloes for distribution across their digital and social media channels, as well as to share with student athletes

Creating new opportunities for CU and its partners to engage with fans using near real-time data and video from games powered by Tempus Ex FusionFeedTM technology

"We are always looking for new and innovative ways to help improve our video content and enhance our fan experience," CU Director of Football Creative Services John Snelson said. "By partnering with Tempus Ex, we are gaining access to content that we've not previously been able to access and can now develop new digital interactions that will offer fans an exclusive perspective on the game and our players."

"We're very excited to be working with Coach Prime and the entire Colorado football staff and content team who represent our first university as a commercial client and innovation partner. They prioritize innovation to deliver results across their organization and share in our vision of providing the underlying technology powering new ways for their football staff and content team to better prepare for gameday and interact with their fans with new content," Casey Miller, Tempus Ex Machina Director of Revenue said. "Colorado has accomplished quite a bit since the new staff have arrived and we look forward to helping them accomplish their goals this upcoming year as a program leveraging our technology"
