Colorado totaled four goals in the victory

BOULDER — Colorado Soccer scored first and last in Saturday night's exhibition win over North Texas. The two sides combined for seven goals, with the Buffaloes topping the Mean Green 4-3.

The Buffs held a 2-1 lead after the first 45 minutes, getting goals from Hope Leyba and Sami Fisher.

The action picked up in the second half, with North Texas tying the game in the 48th minute. Three minutes later, Josie Master put the home team back in front, 3-2, slotting a left-footed shot to the back of the net for her first goal in the Black & Gold.

UNT earned a penalty kick in the 68th minute to tie the game for the third time.

Faith Leyba and Ava Priest teamed up for the game-winning tally in the 77th minute. Leyba saved the ball off the left side of the goal line, centering it back to the middle of the field, where Priest headed it into an empty net from just off the line.

22 Buffs got in on the action on Saturday, with Fisher, Jace Holley, Hannah Puff, Michaela Rosenbaum and Laura Gouvin all making their CU debuts. All three goalkeepers, Jordan Nytes, Jamie Campbell and Lindsey Smith, saw time in net.

Colorado starts the regular season with a four-game homestand, opening with a rematch from last season against Marquette on Thursday (7 p.m. MT/ESPN+). The Buffs will conclude their opening weekend with a marquee matchup against No. 8 North Carolina (Noon/ESPN+).
