WACO, TEXAS – For the first of three times this season the Colorado Buffaloes tennis team travelled to Baylor, this time for the Baylor Invite for six athletes to compete going 5-7 on day one.

Action got started this morning with doubles where the group went a combined 2-4. The two wins came in the first round starting with Betina Tokac and Rixt van der Werff coming away with a 6-2 win over UTSA's Arina Babenko and Natalia Castaneda Guerrero. The win marks Van der Werff's first collegiate victory.

The other win came from Lera Alexin and Willow Gretsch. The duo came away with a 7-5 victory over Baylor's own Lauren Littell Nanaka Sato. This also marks Alexin's first collegiate win.

After a rough second round of doubles the Buffs moved to singles where they finished a combined 3-3. The three Buffs who came away with wins were Alexin, Tokac, and Nelson.
Tokac got the first singles win of the day against Baylor's Nanaka Sato. After dropping the first set 6-1, Tokac found herself up 4-1 before Sato was forced to retire due to injury.

In the second singles win Alexin came back after Baylor's Sierra Berry took the first set 7-5 to win the second set 7-5 and take the third set ten-point tiebreaker 10-3 to earn her first career singles win.
