Colorado Signs Cail Jahnke to 2026-27 Roster

November 13, 2025 | Women's Basketball

BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team welcomes the addition of Cail Jahnke (Minneapolis, Minn./St Michael-Albertville HS) to the 2026-27 roster, head coach JR Payne announced Thursday, Nov. 13.

"I am so excited that Cail is a Buff!" head coach JR Payne said. "She is a great addition to our basketball family. Cail embodies everything we love: she plays hard, has a relentless work ethic, is extremely versatile and is a great teammate!"

A 6-2 four-star recruit from Minneapolis, Minn., Jahnke attends St. Michael-Albertville High School and plays clubs for North Tartan EYBL. She is a three-time All-Conference high school honoree and a two-time Minnesota All-State honoree. Jahnke has registered over 1,300 career points in her high school career and holds her high school's all-time record for rebounds in a single season. She helped lead her team to three state tournament appearances, including a third-place finish in 2024, a second-place finish in 2022, and a state title in 2023 with her high school squad. Jahnke competed in volleyball, track and field and basketball, lettering in all three sports at St. Michael Albertville.

Jahnke played with her club team, the North Tartan EYBL, from fourth to 11th grade (coached by Gerard Coury and Greg Dietel). She helped her club team to U12 and U17 state championships, and at the Nike EYBL Nationals in 2024, Jahnke and her team finished fifth.

"The education at CU is amazing, and there are a ton of great academic opportunities for students," Jahnke stated, on why she chose CU. "Boulder is a beautiful place, and for me, the people really made CU feel like home, especially the staff and team. I wanted to join a high-level program that wins. Colorado is just that, and I cannot wait to be a part of it!"

The Buffs are back in action on Sunday, Nov. 16, hosting Portland State at the CU Events Center (1 p.m. MT).
