Four Buffs Attend the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine
March 01, 2025 | Football
INDIANAPOLIS – Four Colorado Buffaloes, Jimmy Horn Jr., Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders, and LaJohntay Wester, traveled to Lucas Oil Stadium to participate in the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine this week.
The four Buffs in this year's combine are the most since Colorado sent four back in 2020. With Horn, Hunter, and Wester, this is the first time sending three players as a wide receiver. Sanders was the first CU quarterback invited to the combine since 2017.
Hunter and Sanders did not participate in on-field drills. Both conducted interviews with teams and attending media as well as measurements.
Combine Measurements:
Jimmy Horn Jr.: 5'8'', 174 pounds, Hand Size: 8 3/4'', Arm Size: 30 3/8'', Wingspan 74 4/8''
Travis Hunter: 6'0'', 188 pounds, Hand Size: 9 1/8'', Arm Size: 31 3/8'', Wingspan: 76 7/8''
Shedeur Sanders: 6'1 1/2'', 212 pounds, Hand Size: 9 3/8'', Arm Size: 31 1/2'', Wingspan: 77 6/8''
LaJohntay Wester: 5'10'', 163 pounds, Hand Size: 8 5/8'', Arm Size: 29 3/4'', Wingspan: 72 5/8''
Hunter was again asked about his sales pitch to NFL teams about playing on both sides of the ball and answered, "They say nobody has ever done it the way I do it. But I tell them I'm just different. I'm a different person."
For Sanders, he reminded the whole world that history repeats itself. Whether that's in Jackson, Miss., Boulder, Colo., or wherever drafts him, the culture changes. "That's the plan," Sanders said. "If that's not what you're trying to do, don't get me. If you ain't trying to change the franchise or the culture, don't get me. So you should know, history repeats itself over and over and over and I've done it over and over and over. So it should be no question why an NFL franchise should be."
On Saturday, Horn and Wester both competed in on-field drills. Horn started putting up a 38.00'' vertical jump, the tenth highest for receivers, a 10'8'' broad jump, which ranked ninth longest among receivers, and a 4.46 official 40-yard dash. In the wide receiver gauntlet drill, Horn reached a top speed of 19.81 miles per hour, the fastest among all wide receivers.

Wester followed up that performance with a 32.00'' vertical jump, a 10'1'' broad jump, and a 4.46 official 40-yard dash.
Before Wester left the combine, he wanted teams to know, "that I've been through everything. I've had to carry a team before. I had become a role guy. I'm coming in and I'll able to do anything that you need me to do. Whether it's playing special teams, whether it's coming in and impacting the team early, becoming a star receiver, or if it's even becoming a guy in the locker room who's just a 'juice guy.' Whatever you need me to do, I'm able to do it, and I'm going to do it to the best of my ability."
