September 22, 2025 | Women's Basketball
BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team announced its 18-game Big 12 Conference slate on Monday, Sept. 22, rounding out the team's full 2025-26 schedule.
Colorado enters 2025–26 with high expectations and 10 talented newcomers. The Buffs look to once again contend in the Big 12 and position themselves for postseason success.
The CU conference schedule tips off at Arizona State on Dec. 21 in Tempe, Ariz., before ringing in the New Year with a conference home opener against Arizona (Dec. 31) and Cincinnati (Jan. 3).
The Buffs hit the road for two early tests at Baylor (Jan. 8) and Oklahoma State (Jan. 11) before hosting Iowa State (Jan. 14) in a marquee January matchup. Colorado then travels to UCF (Jan. 18) before returning home to take on Oklahoma State (Jan. 25). The first month of league play concludes with a road trip to Kansas State (Jan. 29).
February features one of the most demanding stretches of the season. The Buffs visit Kansas on Feb. 1, then host West Virginia (Feb. 4) and TCU (Feb. 8) in Boulder. A trip to Houston (Feb. 11) follows, before a Valentine's Day home contest against BYU (Feb. 14). Colorado will then travel to Arizona (Feb. 17) before finishing the regular season with three high-profile matchups: Texas Tech (Feb. 21) and Utah (Feb. 24) at home, and BYU on the road (Feb. 28).
"The Big 12 is one of the toughest conferences in the country, and every night is a battle," head coach JR Payne said. "We're excited about this schedule because it gives us an opportunity to compete against some of the best programs in women's basketball."
The Buffs released their nonconference schedule early this month and last, featuring a nationally recognized opponent in Louisville (Nov. 12), a three-game (UT-Arlington, VCU, Texas A&M) trip to the islands at the Hawai'i North Shore Showcase (Nov. 22-25), and a hefty slate of home competition. CU's competitive nonconference lineup will test the Buffaloes early and often.
The Buffs begin the 2025-26 season with an exhibition game against the Colorado School of Mines on Oct. 29 before launching into four home games in November. The Buffs tip off the regular season on Nov. 6 against New Mexico. CU then welcomes its first of three Big Sky Conference opponents on Nov. 16 when Portland State visits Boulder. Two days later, the Buffs square off against Boise State (Nov. 18), before wrapping up the month with a long-awaited meeting against Montana State on Nov. 30.
The month of December features four more home games, beginning with a contest against College of Charleston on Dec. 2. CU then steps back into familiar territory, hosting Mountain West rival Wyoming on Dec. 7. The Buffs close nonconference play with a pair of intriguing matchups: Miami (OH) on Dec. 14 and Northern Colorado on Dec. 16.
