BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team (15-7, 6-4 Big 12) is back at home this week to play No. 20 West Virginia (18-5, 8-3 Big 12) at the CU Events Center on Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. MT.

The Buffs will face the Mountaineers for the first time this season and for just the third time in program history. Colorado last squared off against West Virginia last season, losing 73-46 in Morgantown. On Wednesday, Colorado has a chance to improve its win streak to four games and take the lead in the all-time series versus West Virginia. This game is Colorado's annual Play4Kay game, a fundraiser for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, uniting coaches, players, officials and fans in the fight against all cancers affecting women.

Last week, the Buffs capped off a two-game road trip with victories over Kansas State and Kansas. On Sunday, Colorado returned to Allen Fieldhouse for the first time since the 2011 season and grabbed a 69-66 overtime victory over the Jayhawks (Feb. 1). Twenty-four- and 21-point performances from junior guard Zyanna Walker and senior forward Jade Masogayo helped boost the Buffs to victory in their first overtime game of the season.

TIP-OFF (TL;DR)

CU is led by 10th-year head coach JR Payne, who has led the Buffs to a 179-123 (.592) record as CU's eighth head women's basketball coach. Coach Payne has been extended through the 2028 season and has led the Buffs to three NCAA appearances, two WNIT appearances and one WBIT appearance.
In its second year back in the Big 12, Colorado was picked to finish ninth in the Big 12 Preseason Poll. Colorado is 115-153 (.427) overall in Big 12 conference play.
The Buffs return four from the 2024-25 roster: Sr. F Jade Masogayo, So. G Kennedy Sanders, 5th C JoJo Nworie and So. F Tabitha Betson.
Colorado welcomes 10 newcomers for the 2025-26 season, five transfers and five freshmen. The five transfers include Jr. G Zyanna Walker (Kansas State), Jr. G Desiree Wooten (North Texas), Jr. G Claire O'Connor (Gonzaga), Jr. G Maeve McErlane (DePaul) and Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat (Rhode Island). The five freshmen include G Erianna Gooden (Fork Smith, Ark./Northside H.S.), C Jade Crook (Albury, Australia/Basketball Australia Center of Excellence/Lake Ginninderra College), G Isa Hämäläinen (Lorentzweiler, Luxembourg/European School of Luxembourg 1), F Logyn Greer (Lansdowne, Pa./Friends' Central School) and F Sophie Zadel (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights H.S).
Jr. G Zyanna Walker is tied for third in conference for steals per game (2.3), 21st for free throw percentage (70.2%) and 20th for assists per game (2.8). She scored a career-high 24 points against Kansas, adding four rebounds, three steals, and two assists (Feb. 1). Walker was also named to the Big 12 Starting Five this week as a Top Performer for her showings in both games last week – aiding the Buffs at KU and earlier in the week with a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) at K-State (Jan. 29).
Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat is second in the Big 12 for rebounds per game (8.6), and she leads the conference for total offensive rebounds (83) and offensive rebounds per game (3.8). She is also tied for 12th for steals per game (1.9).
Sr. F Jade Masogayo is 18th in conference for free throw percentage (73.5%) and tied for 17th for blocks per game (0.8). Masogayo had 21 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two blocks against Kansas, her 14th game this season with double-digit points (Feb. 1).
Fr. F Logyn Greer is tied for 17th in the Big 12 for blocks per game (0.8). Greer had 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal versus K-State (Jan. 29).
Jr. G Desiree Wooten is 24th in the conference in points per game (12.1) and had 15 against Kansas on Sunday (Feb. 1).
As a team, the Buffs are fifth in the Big 12 for rebounding margin (6.4), fourth for steals per game (10.5), fourth for offensive rebounds per game (13.7), sixth for scoring defense (60.2), seventh for rebounds per game (38.8) and seventh for turnover margin (2.36).

MILESTONE WATCH: Fr. C Jade Crook has 77 points, 23 away from 100. Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat has 680 points, 20 away from 700. Sr. F Jade Masogayo has 193 assists, seven away from 200. Jr. G Maeve McErlane has 92 rebounds, eight away from 100, and she has 188 points, 12 away from 200. Jr. G Desiree Wooten has 193 assists, seven away from 200.

MILESTONE CHECK: Fr. F Logyn Greer reached 200 points against Kansas State (Jan. 29). Sr. F Jade Masogayo reached 100 career steals against Kansas (Feb. 1.)

DOUBLE OR NOTHING: At Kansas State, Jr. G Zyanna Walker had her second career double-double and first of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds (Jan. 29). This was the Buffs' sixth double-double on the season.

FIGURE THAT: Four Buffs scored in double-figures against the Wildcats (Jan. 29), the 11th time this season CU has had four or more players with double-digit points. The Buffs are 8-3 in games where four or more players are in double-digits. Versus KSU, Jr. G Zyanna Walker had 13 points, Sr. F Jade Masogayo had 13, Fr. F Logyn Greer had 11 and Jr. G Desiree Wooten had 11 points.
