Annual Spring Celebration Consists of Full Weekend of Community-Embracing Events

BOULDER, Colo. -- Events surrounding AT&T Black & Gold Weekend are being finalized, creating a two-day community celebration that includes an autograph session with the 2026 Colorado Buffaloes football team, youth football games, Field Day presented by Children's Hospital Colorado, Jr. Buffs Spirit Clinic, and an open football practice and scrimmage where fans can get a first look at the 2026 Buffs in action.

The fun starts on Friday, April 10 with a series of boys and girls youth football and flag football games taking place on fields throughout the CU football complex. Those games will culminate in a pair of showcase girls flag football and youth football match-ups in Folsom Field beginning at 9 a.m.on Saturday, April 11, which is the perfect appetizer for the open practice/scrimmage to come. Public gates for the Black & Gold intrasquad scrimmage open at 11 a.m. but fans are welcome to come early and watch the youth football showcases by entering the stadium through Gate 13 beginning at 8:30 a.m. Folsom Field's clear bag policy will be in effect and fans arriving for the youth football/flag football games will be directed to sit on the east side.

Starting at 1 p.m., Ralphie VII will lead Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders and the Buffaloes onto the field for the annual Black & Gold intrasquad showcase. The scrimmage will consist of Team Gold vs. Team Black, with each squad determined by a draft conducted by players at the beginning of spring practice. Led by captains Ben Finneseth, DeKalon Taylor, Zach Atkins, RJ Johnson, Bo LaPenna and Brady Kopetz, this novel approach has created a new way for players to compete throughout the spring and will create a fun and spirited intrasquad scrimmage that is the first of its kind at CU.

After the intrasquad scrimmage, fans will be welcomed down onto the field to meet the team and get autographs and photos with players. Admission for Saturday's events at Folsom Field is free but tickets must be claimed prior to arrival at the stadium.

There will also be a number of fun surrounding activities specifically geared towards kids, including the annual Field Day presented by Children's Hospital Colorado, which will start at 11 a.m. on Franklin Field and the Jr. Buffs Spirit Clinic, which will start at 8 a.m..

In addition to football, fans can also support the women's lacrosse team as they take on Cincinnati at Prentup Field at noon as well as the women's tennis team, who will be in action against TCU at the Meadows Club in Boulder starting at 2 p.m.
