Buffs Add Australian Forward Goc Malual

April 23, 2026 | Men's Basketball

BOULDER – Goc Malual has agreed to join the Colorado men's basketball program for the 2026-27 season, head coach Tad Boyle announced on Thursday.

A 6-foot, 8-inch forward, Malual spent the 2025-26 season with the Sydney Kings of Australia's National Basketball League (NBL) as a development player, appearing in nine games. He averaged 10.6 points and 7.6 rebounds in seven games for the Sydney Comets in the NBL1 East in 2025.

"What stood out to me is his motor," Boyle said. "He plays extremely hard and he's tough and rugged. He can really help our front court in terms of rebounding and defense and can score the ball a little as well."

A native of Sydney, Malual has been a regular in the Australian National Youth Program for the past three years. He helped Australia to a pair of international championships, first at the 2023 FIBA U17 Oceania Championship in Papua, New Guinea and the following year at the 2024 FIBA U18 Asia Cup in Jordan.

Malual averaged 13.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks, helping Australia win all five of its games at the U17 Oceania Championship. At the U18 Asia Cup, he pitched in 6.7 points while grabbing 8.0 rebounds per contest.

Most recently in international competition, he averaged 4.3 points and 5.4 rebounds to help Australia finish sixth at the 2025 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Switzerland.
