Big 12 Announces 2026-27 Men’s Schedule Matrix
June 11, 2026 | Men's Basketball
The first step in the gauntlet of the 2026-27 Big 12 Conference season has been taken as the league released its entire men's basketball match-up matrix on Thursday.
For the second year in a row, Big 12 teams will play 18 conference games, broken down by home-and-home series with three opponents and single games with the other 12: six home and six away. Opponents were selected to achieve the best balance of the schedule in terms of travel and competitiveness. A full Big 12 schedule will be released at a later date.
Colorado will play a home-and-home series with Utah, Houston and Baylor. The home-and-home series with Utah is the only one that repeats the Buffaloes' Big 12 pairings from last season. The Bears and Cougars were road-only opponents in 2025-26, as both are set to return to the CU Events Center for the first time in two years.
Six of Colorado's nine home opponents advanced to postseason play in 2025-26. Along with the home-and-home trio, the Buffaloes have single home games with Arizona State, BYU, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Texas Tech and West Virginia.
The Buffaloes will have single road contests at Arizona, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU and UCF. All six of those were home-only opponents for Colorado last season.
Dates, times and television for all Big 12 games, along with Colorado's nonconference schedule, will be announced at a later date.
