Bio
2017-18 (JUNIOR): Oleynik went 7-10 in singles matches and 11-10 in doubles action as a junior. She played primarily at No. 6 singles in dual matches, going 5-5 at that spot. She won back-to-back matches vs. Colorado State and Northern Colorado on Jan. 20 and 27, and again vs. New Mexico State and New Mexico on March 3 and 4. Oleynik earned CU’s only point of a 4-1 loss to No. 43 Washington in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament, defeating Angela Li 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 6 position on April 25. In doubles play, she won her first four matches of the fall season. In the spring, she and Jeannez Daniel won five straight matches between the No. 3 and No. 2 positions from March 3 to March 13. In that streak, they defeated doubles pairs from Arizona and No. 34 Arizona State at No. 3, before moving up to No. 2 in the lineup after the ASU victory. Oleynik and Linda Huang won 6-3 over Washington’s Li and Alexis Prokopuik at No. 3 in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament.

2016-17 (SOPHOMORE): Oleynik joined the Buffs at the semester break and went 4-5 in singles and 8-6 in doubles action as a sophomore. She competed at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, going 2-1 at No. 5 and 1-3 at No. 6. In doubles action, she endured an eight-match winning streak at one point from Jan. 14 to Jan. 29, including five straight wins at the Indiana Invitational. She paired with Annabelle Andrinopoulos for three early-season dual match doubles victories as well.

2015-16 (FRESHMAN AT CAL POLY): Oleynik posted a 5-22 record as a freshman at Cal Poly, playing in the top three spots in the lineup all season. She earned two of her victories at the No. 2 position and also had three wins in doubles.

HIGH SCHOOL: Oleynik was a four-year letterwinner at Palisades Charter High School and went undefeated in league play as the team's No. 1 singles player all four years. She was ranked as high as No. 3 in the state of California in doubles during her career and was an all-conference selection as a senior. Academically, she had a 4.0 grade point average and was named to the Principal's Honor Roll four years.

WOMEN'S TENNIS ASSOCIATION: In open play, Oleynik was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation in 2012 in the 16s age group for doubles, winning several championships. Two of her doubles titles included the International Spring Championships and the Palm Desert Regional Segment Level 3 national championship in 2012 and 2013, respectively. In singles play, she was the 18s age group champion in 2013 at the Santa Monica Open.

PERSONAL: Ilana Oleynik was born on Dec. 18, 1996 in Santa Monica, Calif. She is the daughter of Oleg Oleynik and Yana Fell and has an older brother, Ari. She would like to get into a prestigious law school or start her own company after graduation. In her free time, Oleynik enjoys hanging out with friends, working out, trying new restaurants and watching Shark Tank. She chose CU because it is a "once in a lifetime opportunity to compete for the Pac-12, attend a challenging university that provides so many chances to succeed." She also "fell in love with how beautiful the school is," and is looking forward to going to a college in a new state.
