College—2018-19 (Sr.): Owned the fifth-best average on the team with a 74.00 mark (for 10 rounds, all played as an individual where his score didn’t count for the team total) … Seven players combined to play 74 individual rounds, he was fourth among those with that 74.00 average (which was also +2.40 in relation to par) … The recipient of the team’s “David Plati Mr. Buffalo Award, which is presented to the member of the CU men’s golf team who best exemplifies what it means to be a Colorado Buffalo … Played in one event in the spring, tying for 28th in Colorado Mines’ Writz Invitational (81-75—156, +12) at Bear Creek Golf Club in Denver … Had a 73.0 stroke averaged for eight rounds played in the fall (all falling between 71 and 75), technically the third-best on the team … Had his career collegiate best finish when he tied for sixth in Northern Colorado’s Invitational (71-72—143, +3) … He tied for 30th in Air Force’s Miranda Invitational, carding a 1-over 73 all three rounds … Tied for 35th in his other event, CU’s own Mark Simpson Invitational (222, +6) … Had just three out of 144 holes worse than bogeys (all doubles).
2017-18 (Jr.): He appeared in three events for the year, two in the spring … Owned a 76.89 stroke average for nine rounds, all playing as an individual … Top effort came in the Southern Colorado Masters, where he tied for 34th; he turned in a 13-over 226 scorecard, but his final round 1-under 70 was his best single round of the year (and was the eighth best score for the third round) … He had played in one fall tournament, tying for 82nd in CU’s Mark Simpson Invitational (226, +10); his second round 1-under 71 in the event tied for the 18th-best in the 107-man field.
2016-17 (Soph.): He finished seventh on the team in stroke average with a 75.88 mark, closing out the year tying for 52nd in the Pac-12 Championships, the only tournament of the season his rounds counted toward team scoring as he qualified as the sixth and final scorer. He turned in a 79-72-74—225 scorecard at Boulder Country Club, the second round 2-over 72 tying for the ninth-best score among the 72 competitors. He played in five other tournaments, all as an individual, including CU’s two fall “home” events where he scored 72s or 73s in all five rounds (72.6 average). He tied for 12th in the Ballyneal Challenge (146, +4) and then for 36th in CU’s Mark Simpson Invitational (217, +1). He had just hole worse than a bogey (a double) in 90 holes in the fall. He had his best spring finish in the Pac-12 meet and also tied for 53rd in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate (224, +8).
2015-16 (Fr.): He worked his way into CU’s top six for the Pac-12 Championships, where he placed 41st with a 13-over 297 score; his final round 70 helped the Buffs gain a first-division finish (sixth) … He moved up 16 spots in the final round, the best in the field, and the 297 score was the fourth best 72-hole score by a freshman in school history. He earned a spot on the travel squad for the NCAA Southeast (Tuscaloosa) Regional, where he tied for 56th (232, +16); he again closed with a 70, CU’s best score in the final round en route to an eighth place team finish. He opened up the spring with an even-par 216 for a tie for 42nd in the Amer Ari Invitational on the Big Island in Hawai’i, a scorecard that included his career-best 67 (5-under) in the second round. His top spring finish was a tie for 36th in The Maxwell (as an individual). He appeared in four tournaments in the fall, finishing with the fourth-best stroke average on the team (73.47); he had the third-best second round average (72.75) and fourth-best final round number (73.0). His best finish was a tie for 11th in CU’s own Mark Simpson Invitational (213, +3), which included his low round of the fall, a 1-under 69 in the second round. He tied for 13th in the Ballyneal Challenge (149, +7) for his other top 20 finish. He was a counter for team scoring the last two meets of the fall, tying for 55th in Cal’s Alister Mackenzie (216, +3) and for 60th; four of those six rounds counted toward the team score.
High School—A four-year letterman at Cheyenne Mountain, with every one of his scores counting toward his team’s total all four seasons … An All-State performer his sophomore through senior years, he tied for eighth as a senior in the 4A state meet (72-76—148) after finishing as the runner-up his junior year (71-74—145), one shot out of the lead; he was 12th as a sophomore … He was the 4A Southern Regional champion (shot even-par at Walking Stick in Pueblo), and was the 2013 and 2014 Pikes Peak Athletic Conference champion, earning player-of-the-year accolades for the conference both years … He knocked two strokes off his scoring average every year as a prep: he had a 77 figure as a freshman, then 75 as a sophomore, 73 as a junior and 71 his senior year.
Other—2016: He tied for 42nd in the Saguaro Amateur (Southern Dunes GC, Maricopa, Ariz.), shooting a 77-71-76—224 in the meet held just after the first of the year … He qualified to play in the Colorado Open, but missed the cut (75-79—154). 2015: He tied for eighth with a 3-over 74 at The Broadmoor Golf Club in U.S. Open Qualifying, two strokes out of advancing to sectionals. 2014: After earning the No. 2 seed, he reached the round of 16 in the Colorado Golf Association’s Junior Match Play Championship … He posted a third place finish at the AJGA Junior at Cattail Creek (Glenwood, Md.), with his 75-71—146 scorecard one stroke out of the lead … He qualified and played in the Western Junior, but missed the cut (87-73—160).

Academics—He graduated from CU in May 2019 with a degree in Integrative Physiology at Colorado … He was awarded with the Byron R. White Leadership Award as a sophomore, as it is presented to the CU student-athlete who takes outstanding initiative and demonstrates a strong commitment to leadership and service to the community … As a junior, he earned his way into CU’s 4.0 GPA Club, with a perfect previous fall semester … He was also one of two team liaisons to CU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Personal— He was born July 16, 1996 in Charlotte, N.C. … His hobbies include flying; he is in the process of earning his pilot’s license (Cessna 172s; he soloed when he was 16), and has attained the rank of Eagle Scout … He also is an accomplished Ultimate Frisbee player (earning MVP honors in a national tournament) … An older brother, Daniel Belk, lettered in track (sprinter) at the University of North Carolina.
