Career at Colorado—Johnsen opened her career with two highly successful seasons for the Buffs, earning All-America honors as both a freshman and a sophomore … She rounded out her time racing for CU with 22 top 10 finishes in 30 career races and four podium finishes.
2018 (Senior)—She competed in eight races, finishing 20th or better each time, and missed four during the regular season with a back injury … After returning from the injury, she had six races and finished 10th or better each time, getting back to her All-America level that she displayed earlier in her career when she was not sick or injured … At the RMISA Championships, she placed eighth in the 15K freestyle and ninth in the 5K classic race … Top finish of the season was at the UNM Invite, where she placed fifth in the 5K classic race.
2017 (Junior)—She only competed in three meets on the season, as illness caused her to miss the two meets in Alaska and kept her from qualifying with enough points to compete at the NCAA Championships. She still was able to earn second-team All-RMISA honors on the year. Her top meet was at the Montana State Invitational where she finished second in the 5K freestyle race and was third in the 15K classic race; both finishes matched the best of her career in each discipline. Still not completely healthy at the RMISA Championships, she finished 17th in the 15K freestyle race and was 30th in the 5K classical.
2016 (Sophomore) – Johnsen continued her momentum she garnered at the end of her freshman season into her sophomore campaign, finishing all nine of the races in which she competed and finishing in the top 13 in all nine of those races. She had eight top 10 finishes with two podium appearances, including a third place showing in the classic race at the NCAA Championships, earning first-team All-America honors for her performance and she continued her run of All-America honors by earning second-team honors in the freestyle race after finishing ninth there. Her best performance was a runner-up in the freestyle at Enchanted Forrest in the New Mexico Invitational. On top of her two All-America honors, she was named second-team All-RMISA.
2015 (Freshman) – She competed in seven races this season, finishing them all in the top-20. She made one podium appearance at the Utah Invitational for fourth place in the 10k CL race. She was second-team All-American and second-team All-RMISA.
Club—She skied for As IL from 2000-11 and then for Kjelsaas from 2011-14 where she started participated in FIS sanctioned races. She finished seventh in the Norwegian National Junior Championships in the 5K freestyle race in 2012. She won the 10K classic race and was the unofficial Norwegian National Champinships for 15-16 year olds in 2011 and she won the 5K freestyle race in Granasen, Norway, in 2011. She placed fourth in the 5K freesytle race at Granaasen Skiarena in 2013. In February 2013 in Lillehammer, she placed third in the 10K freestyle race at the Norwegian National Junior Championships. In 2014 in Gaalaa at the Norwegian National Championships she finished as the runner up in the 5/5K Skiathlon classic/freestyle race.
High School—She graduated from Wang Toppidrett in Oslo, Norway, in June 2014.
