FRESHMAN (2007): Boryla made six appearances with one start as a freshman midfielder for CU. She attempted her only shot of the season against No. 16 Missouri on Oct. 21, and made her only start in a 1-0 win at Oklahoma State on Oct. 28. Boryla totaled 99 minutes during the season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Boryla is a three-year letterwinner at Cherry Creek entering her senior season for the Bruins and coach David Paynter. As a junior the Bruins went 12-6 while Boryla scored 12 goals, earning First Team All-Centennial League honors and Honorable Mention All-State. As a sophomore they won the Centennial League championship with a record of 12-2-3 with Boryla scoring 10 goals. Her freshman year Creek went 13-4-1. She also lettered in basketball for one year under coach Missy Steck, and last fall became the first girl to score a point for Cherry Creek football as she lettered as a kicker under coach Greg Critchet. She has spent two years on the Colorado ODP state team and was invited to Regional Camp in 2006.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Boryla plans on majoring in architecture at Colorado and is also interested in interior design.
PERSONAL: Kaylee Anne Boryla was born April 28, 1989 in Denver. She is the daughter of Vince and Julia Boryla of Englewood, and is the older sister of Elissa (14) and Kip (10). Boryla comes from a long line of collegiate athletes, as her grandfathers George Ratterman and Vince Boryla played basketball together at Notre Dame. George went on to play 10 years of professional football. Vince played professional basketball for the New York Knicks after winning an Olympic gold medal. Kaylee has an aunt who played softball at CSU, an uncle who pitched at CSU, an uncle who boxed at Notre Dame, an uncle who pitched at Xavier and an uncle who quarterbacked for Stanford before playing in the NFL.
