2015-16 (Sr.): In her final year on the Colorado women’s golf team, Oleksiew played in a pair of tournaments, both during the fall season. She posted a 76.17 stroke average in six rounds of competition. Oleksiew recorded a top 25 performance at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, shooting a 220 or 4-over par to tie for 22nd overall. She also played in the Pac-12 Preview, where she finished 44th with a 237 or 18-over par performance. Overall, she recorded 67 pars and 14 birdies.
2014-15 (Jr.): Oleksiew recorded a 78.76 stroke average, playing in 29 rounds and 10 of the Buffs’ 11 tournaments in her junior season. In the fall, she posted a 78.09 stroke average over four meets and had her best performance of the year at the Minnesota Invitational. She recorded an 80-73-73—226 or 10-over par scorecard and finished tied for 14th place overall. She completed the spring portion of the schedule with a 79.17 stroke average in 18 rounds, including 11 in the 70s. In total, Oleksiew had 17 rounds in the 70s, which was fifth most on the team.
2013-14 (So.): Oleksiew competed in all 11 of the Buffs’ tournaments as a sophomore, with 26 of her 31 rounds counting toward team scoring. In the fall, Oleksiew compiled a 75.00 stroke average, ranking second on the team. Her 77.42 season stroke average ranked third. In each of the fall tournaments, she had at least one round of 2-over par 74 or better. In total, she had 24 rounds in the 70s. She had two top 20 finishes, recording her career-best finish at New Mexico’s Dick McGuire Invitational on September 21. A pair of par 73s helped her to an 11th place finish and a 1-over par 226 scorecard. She also excelled at the Edean Invite in October, improving each round to finish 9-over par 225 and tie for 16th. Oleksiew had her best performance of the spring at the Anuenue Spring Break Challenge, where she tied for 37th.
2012-13 (Fr.): In her first semester of college golf, she hit the ground running and played in the first two events in the fall season for the Buffaloes before being sidelined the last two events with an off-the-course injury. She finished the fall season with a stroke average of 77.17, second best on the team, with five of her six rounds in the 70s and one at even par, a 72 in the final round of the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins. In the spring, she competed in all six of the team’s tournaments, with a 76.94 stroke average through 17 rounds. Her season stroke average of 77.00 ranked third on the team. She continued to perform well, having 13 of her rounds in the 70s. Her best performance of the year came in March at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, where she finished 9-over par 225. In each of the three final tournaments of the season, she had a round of 2-over par 74 or better.
High School: Oleksiew graduated from the IMG Pendleton College Prep School in Bradenton, Fla., after also attending Southridge High School in Surrey, British Columbia, her freshman and sophomore seasons. As a freshman and sophomore, she was the MVP of the senior golf team and a member of the Effort Honor Roll. She had stroke averages of 76.7 as a freshman and 75.0 as a sophomore. At IMG as a junior, her stroke average fell to 74.3 and she was ranked second at the Academy for fitness level among the women’s athletes there. She also played field hockey at Southridge High School and was named the MVP of the junior team. She is also a national and international level alpine skier and has several top performances including at the British Columbia Gold Cup Nationals and the Whistler Cup 2K Worlds.
Other: She placed third in the medal play portion of the 2014 Florida State Golf Association Women’s Amateur Championship. She won the British Columbia Girls Championship in 2013 and finished seventh in 2011. She was sixth place at the 2011 International Junior Golf Tour Tournament of Champions. She took a fourth place at the HJGT Harmony and won the AJGA National Qualifier in Texas in 2010. She was fifth at the Alberta Junior Girls Championship. She played for the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour and helped Team Canada win the Saxon Championship in Australia and the World Youth Team Challenge, both in 2008. She also played for the WGA Team Canada from 2009-10 at the Stephen Ames Cup.
Best Career Round In Competition: 71 (-2, Arbutus Ridge Golf Course, British Columbia, Canada, ISA High School Championships).
Academics: She majors in economics with a minor in technology, arts and media (TAM). She was named a 2014 Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention. She was a member of the honor roll with distinction as a freshman and sophomore at Southridge High School. At IMG Pendleton, she was named to the Academic Headmasters List and to the National Honor Society of High Schools Scholars as a junior.
Personal: Jamie Oleksiew was born August 9, 1994, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to Lawrence and Lisa Oleksiew. She enjoys reading, skiing, playing the flute, working out, listening to music, dance and acting. She was a ski racer at a national and international level. She chose Colorado because of the overall atmosphere of the campus and she feels CU is a perfect match for her because of the mix of academics and athletics. She lists the biggest moment of her high school career the decision to move to Florida to attend IMG Pendleton College Prep School. Her freshman year at Southridge, she won a fine arts achievement award. Her last name is pronounced O-LEX-YOU).
